ECS are trying to do an '03 WRX engine swap into a '00 RS in 8hrs. They're posting pics over on rs25.com, and hope to post a video of it sometime tomorrow. They're making pretty good progress.

That doesn't sound that hard actually. Wiring harness would be the hard part, but the engine swap itself isn't that hard to do. If you had a few guys working on it, I could see it happening.

Yeah, if all of the wiring was already ready I could see it happening.

It's not; they're doing the harness merge at the same time as everything else.

I actually don't think it would be too hard as long as you had everything mapped out before hand and everyone involved knew what they were doing. With ECS doing it, they all know what they are doing and have probably done a dozen swaps the exact same way. So then it's just a few guys on wiring and a few on mechanical.

yeah... the make shift engine hoist kind of scared the **** out of a few of us that night.

jarred decided he was gonna jump up, grab a joist, and push the wooden crossbeam back.

stupidly, he grabbed the SAME joist that half of the engine weight was being supported on. heard a loud crack and i winced. i was sure it was gonna come down.

    luckily, the joist held fine.

How long did it take them to do the harness itself?
