You guys have probably all seen this, but in case you haven't, here it is. This link is to a online petition for the eradication of the front license plate law in MN, so if you don't like front plates and you want them removed, you should sign it.

Is anyone going to take it to a legislator? No not email... you know how many emails your represenatives get a day? Emailing them some online petition will get little more than a breif glance and a Delete.

Is it even addressing a current bill? If not is anyone going to lobby a represenative to get a bill created?

This years legislation is almost over. Is anyone going to try and push this through next year? I mean by more than resubmiting this peititon. I'm talking about getting people to actually call or write their district House and Senate reps. (again, more than emailing them)

This petition doesn't even have real signatures on it. I wouldn't expect it to carry much weight. One would need to have a strong agrument, real people coming to commitee hearings to back it, and have represenatives on your side for votes to make anything come of it.

I've learned a lot about how politics works being an active member of the MN 4WD Association, specifically with the Land Use commitee. This year I testified before a Senate commitee hearing, talked to my House Rep. and Senater for my district, and attended multipule other commitee hearings. The MN4WDA has a paied lobbist at the capital working every day for us and we still get bills beat in commitee or on the floor.

    Good luck :p

Ditto. I signed it as well. I'd rather sign it and hope someone finds a way to make it happen than to sit and complain about how online petitions don't work.

Then print it up and go to the capital building with it.

Let us know how it works out...

I wasnt complaining about it. I was saying do something more than just sign it and hope someone else does all the real work of getting legislation passed.
