    What did you do?

Not me personally, but coming out of wallyworld with a buddy (Ryan, 6'3" and 280lbs not a fat 280) we see a 15-18year old little guy (5' nothin) trying to pop the lock on my Ryans car. Now I have never seen Ryan get mad or angry at any one, I thought I was in for a sight. Ryan just walks up behind the kid grabs his waist band and shirt collar, picks him up and just says "no you don't, not today" and tosses the guy behind the car next to us. The guy hit the ground running and screaming like he got raped, which was hilarious.

I busted some chick trying to get into my car (looking for pizza), and I called her out. She just said that she thought she looked good next to my car :-/ I told her to get the hell away from it, otherwise I'd hogtie her, throw her in the back and dump her in the river. Maybe I was a bit harsh, but really, dont touch my car.

caught someone trying to break into my car on lyndale this summer as i was coming out of the cc club. He pushed the whole rubber seal down on my rear window but didnt get in, I saw him right next to my car from a block away, he walked away as soon as he saw someone approaching and was gone by the time I got to my car.

make a rig to Hide a taser under the seat material. Once you lock your car it activates the taser. Once the a$$ hole thats trying to steal your car gets in, his nuts or a$$ tell him get out of the car once he sits down. Which ever the taser hits first. Probably wont try yours again. lol

That's how you get sued. They banned smoking indoors here, I'm pretty sure they'll side with the criminal with the charred balls.

It is illegal in the US to set traps for thieves. I recall a lawsuit of a man breaking into a small business to steal the safe, which was connected to a 220V circuit off the fuse box. The family sued and won. My thought is, if he wasn't doing what he wasn't supposed to do, he wouldn't be dead. And yet, we sided with the thief and made him a victim. Utter BS.

Yup, this. This kind of stuff is the very reason why I am afraid to own a handgun for home defense. Because, the intruder could be actively raping you with a fist full of stolen goods, but if you blow his face off, you will likely lose all your belongings to the intruder's family anyway.

A gun you keep in your trunk and plant in their hand once they are unconscious/dead.

if there is sufficent evidence proving you had to defend yourself (bruises scrapes marks of any kind from intruder) or you witnessed him with a gun in your home uninvited, I find it pretty hard to believe that you would be sued for anything as long as you LEGALLY own the gun.

a spouse or witness to the crime would be good also, so its not you vs dead guy on your floor.

Sorry, I come from the school of "There is no such thing as shoot to maim/disable." The center of mass is the only place you aim for if you intend to disable an attacker.

This one hits close to home. Last week I was moving to a new apartment in the same complex and was using one of our work truck from our shop in Shakopee. The only night I have ever left my car overnight in the lot there, but we have video survalence on the front and back lots so I wasn't worried. Some ass hat broke the drivers side window, took the deck ($400 jvc) my $300 dollar radar detector, about 100cds my $300 prescription sunglasses ( I hope he/she puts them on and crashes into and catches on fire) oh and he for some reason took the ash tray which had a allem wrench some loose change in it and also took a old check book i kept in there for emergencies.

So after canceling my checking account and filing a police report and dealing with state farm which covered the glass but nothing else. I will end up paying about $100 to get the dash repaired and will have to save for another radio. luckily my buddy is letting me use his 02 radio and i-pod transmitter for th mean time. Huge fricking hassle the checking account thing suxs the most. Thank god they had no idea what the PFC Commander was on the dash or the two omori gauges and the AEM wide band UEGO guage was. they could have done allot more damage I guess, especially if they went for the PFC and the ECU under the passenger area.

so unfortunately the car was too far away in the cameras to make out the plate, but we think its the cleaning people next to our building, all I'm gonna say is "revenge is best served cold"

God only know what I would have done if I caught them in the act!!

See, as far as I'm concerned, any person, in my home illegally is sufficient for self defense. But that is just me. I don't know how the state feels about that mentality. But if you are snooping around in my home, without my permission, I'm not going to ask you nicely to tell me if you are armed or not.
When you enter my home without my permission, you leave your rights and freedoms at the doorstep or whatever window you came in through. Your un-invited presence in my house, and the fact that you broke the law to get there, tell me that the law and my rights and freedoms are not the top of your priority list. At which point, you give up your rights to life, liberty and the persuit of happiness, and you gain the right to eat a chest full of lead.

I agree completely, if you aim a firearm at a living animal/being you should be prepared to shoot and kill that animal/being 3 rounds center mass always does the trick!!

Thats the worst idea. A dead man tells no tales.

The week after I got my car some clown was trying to open the doors on it over by maplewood mall. Walked right up to him and asked him what the **** he was doing. He said that he locked his keys in his car and he was trying to get in. So I suggested that I could use my keyless entry remote to help him out. I unlocked my doors, he gave me the deer in the headlights look, and ran for the mall. I had about 3-4 inches and 60 lbs on the kid, and as fast as he ran away I figured he wasn't armed.

I agree, There is NO way that a family could win a case for something like that though, your son/ daughter broke the law, and now they are either paying the price of either being killed, paralysed, or at very least seriously injured.
I would shoot someone if they were in my house, no questions asked, I think 50 cent said shoot first ask questions last?

I caught a guy breaking into my girlfriends civic awhile back. i pulled up behind her car to drop her off and i see the drivers door open. I throw the 1995 saturn in park and take off my coat ready to throw down. The kid takes off down the sidewalk with me on heels. As i get closer to him, I see him reach into his coat. What is he doing? i ask myself. Does he have a gun or a knife? Instead he takes a swipe at me with a vice grip. (makeshift window crank because one had failed). So i became even more angry, not only did he break in to her car, he stole one of my tools, and to top that off he tried to beat me with it.
So i get close enough to him where i can bring him down. I jumped on his back and slammed his face into the concrete, busting his nose wide open. I pinned him there for a few minutes with his arm all chicken winged up. waiting for the police to arrive.
Needless to say i caught the guy and justice was served. After the incident the cops congratulated me and jokingly told me to swing by and pick up a job ap.

From what I can tell, it happens all the time. I think in california, you get mandatory rape and vegan meals in prison when you shoot someone in self defense in your home.

I caught someone trying to break into my buddies itr front end integra at dunwoody. He broke the quarter window, then he saw me running at him yelling and him and his driver drove off before I could get something to throw. F*ck. I would have beat the crap out of him if I would have gotten up to him.

I heard a story about a guy who put razor blades on his speakers or his deck, whichever. Some douche broke into his car and tried to steal the audio and cut his fingers pretty badly, sure as **** he sued the owner and won. This kinda crap really makes me lose faith in our legal system.

I suppose if you put a giant reflective "ATTENTION: By entering this vehicle you consent to recieve physical abuse from vehicle owner." you would still get sued and lose.....

I work with a guy who had his system stolen 3 times in high school (he was a co worker back then also, small world). After the 3rd time when he installed the system we pulled apart the amp and put xacto blades on each end then put the amp back together. He mounted the amp on a piece of 1/2" plywood, raised it up just enough to get your fingers under it to pull it free from the trunk. About 3 weeks go by he comes into work with the crap kicked out of his car. All the windows are smashed doors kicked in trunk smashed with some thing. Every one at the shop is like WTF happened, he replies; "they TRIED to steel my sh**". he pulls the trunk up and there is blood all over the carpet. All of us are asking "what about the rest of the car". "oh thats covered by insurance, my systems not".

He did get his car fixed by insurance and his stuff was never broke into after that.

in all honesty, I think we are just hearing about the crazy how the **** did they win cases, I think if you are defending your family and the wellbeing for yourself, using deadly force will only save YOUR life, and the justice system will understand that, as long as you arent a repeat felony drug dealer or some crazy **** like that where you may have people after you for drug money or something..........

in a perfect world yes.. but the justice system is riddled with hippies and wankers who are politically correct to the point of being morons...

I remember years ago reading about a burgular who cut himself on the window he smashed trying to break into a house and he sued, and won the case....

Here's one everyone will enjoy reading.

    http://wcco.com/crime/bat.burglars.minneapolis.2.642901.html

Mpls. Burglar Gets Baseball Bat To Body, Not Loot

    (WCCO)
A couple burglars got more than they bargained for when they broke into a Minneapolis home last week.
One of the young men living in the duplex was armed and ready.
Kristopher Williams put his skills as a baseball and softball player to good use.
His hits made burglars in his home -- run.
Kristopher Williams and his dog were asleep in his room in the wee hours of the morning when he "heard a commotion in the kitchen" and then led to his bedroom.
"I heard knives jamming in my door I just kind of thought real quick what was I going to do," said Kristopher Williams.
So while his pit bull hid under a pillow, Williams took his quilt, ran into the closet, and grabbed a baseball bat.
"Then they had a countdown -- 1, 2, 3 -- and then they broke in," he said.
Williams threw his quilt over one burglar and started swinging.
"So I hit him two times -- four times," said Williams.
A grand slam so hard the bat broke.
"The burglar got the short end of the stick," said Minneapolis Police Lt. Greg Reinhardt.
"Once it broke, I just started punching him and then he just kind of said 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry.' I'm like 'yeah, me too dude,'" said Williams.
In the mean time the other burglar had got out.
"The first dude ran out with a bag full of food -- and the second dude left probably about 15 seconds later and he was still kind of woozy. And as he dipped out, I kind of ran after him, and tripped the second one, and stole the bag of food," he said.
The bag was filled with pizza and laundry detergent.
"They were really desperate I guess," said Williams.
They thieves did leave one thing behind.

"Blood from the bad guy who wasn't supposed to be here and I ended up beating him really badly," he said.
Police admire Williams' courage since he turned the tables on the crooks but don't recommend confronting burglars because they may have a weapon which could seriously injure or kill you.
Police say the safest thing to do is call 911. The suspects in this case are still on the loose.

I can't imagine someone still able to walk after getting beaten by a bat and having it break. Adrinaline must be really high. Hopefully they will catch this guy at a hospital somewhere.

the dude is lucky they both didnt team up on him and use the knifes they used to break into the house to kill him.
if people are crazy enough to break into your house, they are crazy enough to break yo-self.

I think that most petty cowardly theives are just as scared as you or I in these situations. The fact that this guy surprised them was the advantage and worked in his favor. It's kinda funny how his Pitbull just ducked under. I heard that in order to survive sometimes you have to put yourself in a position where you're not the victum, but rather someone watching, a third perspective. Like when I'm watching WWE, I know exactly what I'd do when they got me in a leg lock, don't you. LOL

i agree with them being as scared as you are. people trying to break into your house usually dont want to be confronted. they enter most of the time when they are sure your not home.....

as far as all of the gun talk....i think thats totally ****ed up! honestly. i like how they do things over in europe as far as gun control. here in the states everyone is packing heat. giving everyone guns is how we up the chances that people are going to use them. but then there is the whole "well what about hunters and sport shooters.." deal. i dont know too many people that hunt but i think every one of them owns a **** load of guns that im sure they dont need. it doesnt take much to take a deer down.

as far as having to carry a gun cuz the guy breaking into your house might have one.... he/she wouldnt have one if they werent made so available to the public in the first place. so we could all actualy be more manly and beat the **** out of them the way god intended, with our fists.

the bill of rights i think shouldnt have given the public ability to own wepons....

a wepon is used upon others. hunters shouldnt own wepons. they should own tools for their sport.

I have a good friend, drove* a riced out civic with 5% tint.. he was very good at keeping his glove box and trunk locked, meaning you need the key to open them, and had one of those weird 'Club's for your clutch so people can't steal it... He previously had an Integra stolen, chopped and vandalized, so he's uber protective...

Anyway someone at grandcasino hinkley tried to take his new civic, they busted the driver window in, took his deck than tried to open the trunk but couldn't (we could see pry marks from some tool). The back seats where punctured and torn, every window was busted, carpet was torn, plastic broken, scratches on every panel (except the hood, weird). He almost wished the thief was able to steal his sub in the trunk so he didn't have to clean up his car :( Some messed up people out there!! How did NOONE see this happen, we where in the casino for 1.5 hours and parked in the middle of the lot!

I've been tempted to leave my car unlocked and just take a fuse with me inside.. Much rather have someone steal my oem deck than bust my ef'n windows, such a pain to clean and expensive to replace.

Sorry, wrong. I'd rather have a gun and KNOW that I'm going to come out on top, rather than risk being 'manly' and end up getting the snot kicked out of me, and possibly my girlfriend/family getting beaten as a result of my 'manliness.' When it comes to protecting the home, the rule is win by any means necessary, and plan on having the upper hand. You go ahead and be the big man and believe that at 3am you are going to take down two armed robbers with your bare hands in the dark...I'll hole up in my bedroom with the matress and boxspring flipped on end with the barrel trained at the bedroom door.

Actually, I'd likely get an H&K USP .40 compact, or a USP .45. I've always liked the way the USP felt in the hand. Although nothing beats a 12 gauge for home defense. Just the sound of those things being cocked is enough to scare most common sense burglers away. Pump it like you mean business, they'll hear it.

you obviously didnt read what i had typed as i had intended. i was mearly showing my view on people even having the ability to obtaine a gun. if they cant get one then neither can you. maybe they wouldnt break into your house if they didnt have a gun for backup?.... get it?

and how can i be wrong for stating my view?

but im only saying that providing guns to people gives them a reason to use them.... and if its for protection, that means that its directly being used agenst other people. in my mind thats F'ed up

but i dont want to argue with anyone about this and turn the thread into a huge ethics and logic discusion because thats not what was intended when it was started.
