i never lie about being sick, i just get burnt out on my job (this one has been the worst) so they think I'm lying but really I'm just depressed and unhappy that I have to continue feeding the machine.
I count that as sick... Sometimes I get burnt out, real....real bad attitude and they might think they want me to come in...but if they knew better, they wouldn't.
I just call in and say that I can't make it. My boss is usually cool and says alright. Or I find someone who wants overtime and I get to skip. Its great.
If you have to lie, it's not the right job. I just got back from Hawaii this afternoon. My boss picked me up from the airport. He asked me if I'm working on Friday. I said no (even though I'm out of vacation) He said OK. They hadn't made the descision on whether we were working or not. That decision was made when he asked me. Everyone gets stressed out or burnt out, your boss better know when to let you go and take off.
He probably has a job that doesn't give much vacation. Some people have to cheat the system. Doesn't mean you should. Some get caught. That's like saying you don't race or mod your car (while under warranty) when dealers frequent the boards. They get their warranty revoked for the same reason. Some get caught.
he's an intern...im sure he doesnt get any vacation. i basically thought that the picture he got busted with was hilarious...but apparently nobody else did
Naa, not gonna quit...just not gonna go anymore (from office space). Just watched the video...call me over caffenated, but I kept waiting for the funny part, and gave up...
Usually I just call in and tell them I have diarhhea (sp?). Then while I'm on the phone, I pause for a second, enter my bathroom, grunt a bit, and then pour a can of chunky vegetable beef soup into the toilet and flush. Usually works
