sister in laws car sucked up some water and put a hole in the block, i was driving my truck so i just plowed right through
I am good. I was driving right thought the storm. The water was like 30 inches up in some places. Good that i installed the gp moto elbow yesterday.
St. louis park was bad, i waited at work (methodist hosp.) an hour after my shift to leave and get to BP, which took me an hour through 394 and 94. hwy 100 was jammed. luckily car is fine.
I am fine. left minneapolis around 6 ish. 94 wasnt too bad. got hit real hard on 394w though. it wasnt that bad some tiny hail and alot of water. Everyone in front of me was driving excessively slow. I would have liked to maintain my usual 5 over. I did enjoy tearing through some of the 6" deep puddles on campus. had to check and make sure I still had 4 flaps when i got home.
I work in a 6 floor building @ 394 & 100. The light show was crazy there. Tons of ground strikes, I watched lightning strike something that threw sparks in the lot near the Olive Garden there. It was a sweet sight, looked like it split into multiple arcs near the ground. I was just waiting it out. Traffic there was crazy, 394 & 100 both stopped in both directions as far as you could see.
Me too! Looks like my luck has finally changed...in the 5 years I owned my previous car, it probably hailed bad 4 times that I know of, and my car was in the parking lot at work all 4 times...luckily it was just a '94 Dodge Spirit
My car was parked at the station while I was running calls, from what I heard we got about 1in hail in the area. I haven't had too much of a chance to look but I'm pretty sure I got some extra dimples. Oh well.
My car was safely in my garage. I chose a bad day to pick up a big screen TV from my buddy though. The topper of my truck is off, and I can't get it back on alone. Thank you painters plastic and lots and lots of tape.
There wasn't any large hail around my place, just a lot of rain. My parent's place north of the cities had some strong wind though, they lost several trees and the neighbor's house had a tree fall on it.
Damn, I see we've got the same forecast this afternoon for Rochester. Large hail, damaging winds, etc... And of course my wife's stupid focus is on jackstands in the driveway, so I can't get my 9-2x in the garage. A complete suspension swap on a car with 165k miles is not fun, you can basically throw away the wrenches and grab an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel instead. Guess I better get my ass in gear after work and get it finished up before the bad weather hits. Though you know, bowling ball sized hail wouldn't be too bad. At least that would total my 9-2x, and I wouldn't have to worry about selling it anymore.
