very very interesting..especially when you look at the older stats, i thought the Evo was marginally quicker than the STI normally...maybe its different in the US than JDM land

I knew this was going to pop up here sooner or later. I am actually looking forward to this one instead: VIDEO: Lewis Hamilton vs The Stig - Who Won? http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/02/video-lewis-hamilton-vs-the-stig-who-won/

Okay I'm kidding, anyway, I watched the latest BMI and they featured the new Evo X. The concepts behind its new technology is estonding. My only complaint without ever driving one is so far the S-AWD gauge, couldn't they have come up with something more ugly. We are in the 21st century and they have this blunt red gauge indicating where power is distributed. At least have some different colors to help indicate when your at max.

The 08 STi was very impressive in the video as well. The oversteer was quite noticable around the track especially with the lines taken and the wet conditions. I look forward to driving both of these in the near future. These results will vary as driver and conditions are a constant variable in the end results. So the debate continues.

Nice the STi still rains supreme.

It was very interesting looking at the previous stats. the GD did a good job versus the evo, and for the most part the GC held their own too. The new hatch has gained back some respect for being faster than the evo.

Didn't everyone think that the STi was gonna be way slower than the Evo?

Not "way" but I did suspect it may have handed the Lil Brown Snail back to Mitsu.

doesnt suprise me, drive an 08 impreza, even a base model and try to compare it to anything they have made in the last 10 years.

What, oversteer on a wet track? Who would have thought. ;)

EVO X = FTL right now. Did they fix the dual-clutch transmission issue yet?

No and I own an Evo MR. The Evo and STi have always been very close in performance (hence the rivalry). I didn't look at the video clip yet, but the STi spec C and Evo MR RS (both models we don't get) have been running in the high 1:04 to low 1:05 range for years now. These lap times are typically achieved during the winter months (7HP increase for every 10 degree (C) decrease in temp below the median of 70F (21C).

    Oops, not a video.
