I finally finished the exterior, brakes, motor, audio, and suspension for my baby. I have a set of v6 STi seats coming to me in mid/late May and that should finish my project. It has been a fun and expensive trip, but I love how it looks and performs. Enjoy! Here is the day I got it home after a trip to Chicago to get it: And here is how it looks today: This motor picture is a bit old, but besides the new front end and Apexi Power Chamber Intake, it looks the same now. It has came a long ways, but I am very happy to see it finally coming together, and getting rid of the 98' front end. Currently sits with about 59k original miles!
I intended to bring the vinyl onto the rear bumper and end it similarly to the front, but I didn't realize the rear bumper angles up HARD, until after I had started the install. I don't mind it with the front and the middle of car. Beside the picture above, I do not. I JUST finished it yesterday and it is crappy outside today. I will get some with my basic camera when the sun returns. I plan to do a professional photoshoot when I get the STi seats install in May. Thanks for the compliments guys, I appreciate it!
That looks really good, I think you would still be fine with extending the vinyl on to the rear bumper following the same line and it would taper on its own and still look clean.
where did you get that hood scoop and those vents, i was trying to buy the same ones but couldnt have it
http://www.htautos.co.uk/first_6.html 12th picture down on the left column. Took about 2 weeks from the UK. I've always wanted to make the drive for a Subaru meet! Enough planning and I should be able to make it. My fiancee's family lives in St Paul and Forest Lake, and I have a few friends in the area. So I am in the area often throughout the summer.
That is the nicest Subaru I've ever seen :eek4:, IMO. It is very nice it looks like you took all the right steps and time to set it up I won't have done anything different If you every want to sell the car put me on the "want to buy it list!" Is it as fun to drive as it looks? Great job on the car
I'm really liking that red. I wish the bugeye model would've had more of a cherry red rather then the sedona red
Correct. 96 WRX, 16g, chipped ecu, 16psi....VERY fun street car! To keep the line parallel to the ground, it wouldn't fit the rear bumper. Here is a quick MSpaint drawing just to show how crazy the rear bumper angles up. I purchased it from HT Autos as well. It is a variation of the Prodrive P1 lip. It is very refreshing to not have a WRB Subaru....but sad at times as well... As far as selling it goes. Everything is for sale...for the right price Thanks for the compliments!
WOW!!! props to you man, that is very nicely done. I love it with the stock wing too. really clean. :yumyum:
I'm not much of a 'hp #' kind of guy. I like using the butt dyno. Its quick, and judging from other 16g, EJ20g, Chipped, 16psi I'd say around 270-280 at the wheels.
I am with you. I wanted more air for the little EJ20g intercooler, and the look with the smaller scoop. In person, it looks pretty tough. car looks hot. i heard it was still pretty cold in gf that day.ha cant wait to move back there. but from the pics yours and hunters cars are sick!!!!!
I'm too lazy to but can someone snap a line from the beginning of the vinyl to the end of it? It looks like it has a slight slope to it lower at the front bumper to higher at the end of the side skirt.
The picture wasn't square on the vehicle.... It very well could be a bit off?!? The front and rear of the bottom line is 11" off the ground for a fact, however it could bow a bit in the middle?!? I'm not perfect, and it was installed at 4am. It looks great in person, and that is just fine for me......
Thanks Greg, have you ever stopped into the shop? If not, stop in and introduce yourself! I love meeting Suby fanatics! - Jason
