2016 STi base, looking for a little more rumble. Don't want it crazy loud but loud enough to wake a sleeping driver in front of me a stop light :) I had a greddy evo on my 2004 WRX and I thought that was perfect, fairly loud when accelerating but dead quiet cruising on the hiway or steady throttle

I was looking at the options at MAPerformance - the Corsa & Cobb so far. Thinking cat back for now, maybe j pipe in the future when I am not worried about warranty. I have tried listening to Utube clips but don't know if that's helping - be nice to hear in person. Thanks

I have a 2015 STi with the Perrin resonated exhaust with a Cobb downpipe. I would be more than happy to let you listen to it in person, do a driveby and then have you be in the car to get an idea of the noise level.

Thanks! - I bought an used Invidia Q300 from another forum member, hoping to install it this weekend. I also got a grimmspeed downpipe and Cobb AP with the deal - not sure when I will get that installed - little leery of going stage 2 so soon. Did you install the downpipe yourself? Wondering how big of a pain that is to do

The sooner that you do it, the easier it will be! But if it is a summer car only, the nuts will come off pretty easy in the future too. Exhausts are a pretty easy install.

The cat-back shouldn't be too hard. I got some new gaskets from grimmspeed yesterday, got 12 & 14 mm 6-point sockets, anti-sieze ready to go. Need to find my pry-bar for the hangers.
The downpipe looks to be another level of fun though - I need to find some good videos. I have the text instructions from grimmspeed - lots of removing things!

It is a daily driver since we got it last August - only have 8000 miles on it so bolts should be easy to remove. Still going around & around in my head if I want to go stage two and worry about warranty issues so soon. I would go with a safe tune and error on less hp rather than trying to get the most out of it.

I got the catback installed this morning - about 2 hours including a trip to Menards for a another ratchet wrench. Seemed much longer, getting to old to be under cars wrenching I guess. The bolts all came off easy, the back of the car wasn't bad at all - had it on ramps and there was room. Wresting the mufflers on to the hangers by myseff was the only tough part. The downpipe side wasn't as much fun, just too tight to move around. It would be a piece of cake on a lift.

So I am thinking of having the downpipe installed by someone when I get to that - any idea what that would cost - does someone want some work on the side?

Did you get all of the hangers back on correctly? You're looking a little lopsided. Right side appears to be hanging lower. Left side looks like it has the potential to melt your bumper if it got too hot.

Worth looking into. They should definitely have similar/symmetrical spacing.

Love the quad tips. Excellent choice!

Yeah, I kind of quit without messing with it once everything was bolted together. There are two hangers on each muffler and they are in fixed spots, don't really see how they can be adjusted.

I had to use an OEM hanger and a Kartboy XL hanger to get the P&L Motorsports quad tip sitting right on an 08 STi hatch. They sat against the bumper on one side also. Started melting it, bought XL hangers and all was well again!

Ditto. Really wish I could do quad tips on the bugeye wagon.
