I'm working on making an a pillar gauge pod as well as a roof pod and was thinking I would upholster my headliner and pillar trim while I'm at it.

Does anyone have tricks or tips to keep things nice to avoid headliner sag and such long term? I plan to use 3m super 77 adhesive spray, scotchguard upholstery waterproofer and probably some form of either flannel/plaid or might consider alcantra.

I reupholstered the door card inserts and headliner in my bugeye, the door cards I did myself using the super 77 and some Alcantara-like material with a thin layer of foam underneath. Turned out decent and hasn't started coming off yet. For the headliner though I just brought the stripped headliner and fabric to a local upholstery shop to have them put on. Only cost maybe $75 at most if I remember correctly, which was less than I was about to spend on the professional grade adhesive and a cheap spray gun.
