uh hmmm...yea it is fake...155 fuel pump? Ecutek tuned by Subaru? Sti Front air dam (wind tunnel tested)? Suprised that he didn't even mention the upgraded 2.5 swap for a 04 WRX...Maybe he doesn't know, that he owns an STi?
fake, and not the first fake ad I've seen on car soup either, there was another sti for way too cheap earlier. I think the vin is even fake on this one.
I've seen this car before, probably nasioc, yeah this is fake, I know the guy put mega buck into the car, it probably does have the all mods listed, but thats not the owner.
The problem with car soup is that they don't require a phone number to be displayed as a method of contact like Auto Trader does.
he's probably just phishing for people to try to scam with one of the wire-transfer deals. anyone with a fake email address and some free time want to try to engage this person and see what happens?
Hmm. well, just start out with something simple, the guy isn't going to be able to answer anything too technical, since he doesn't actually have the car. I'd say the goal is to just try to string the guy along as far as possible, just to waste his time. I'd start with something like, "Hi, I saw your ad on carsoup for the STI. It seems to be a very good price for that car, I was just wondering if there's anything wrong with the car, and if those are the pictures of the actual car you're selling. If everything's ok, I'd be really interested to take a look at it. let me know. thanks." here's an example of a reply my friend got when he emailed about a "good deal" on ebay... " I have received your email regarding my ATV. First you have to know bidding is restricted since I am careful with my auction, so no-one will press the button until I have the assurance that he will buy it. The ATV is in perfect condition, with no scratches on it, no damage. The price for the ATV with shipping included is $1,900 USD. The ATV had to be a present for my brother as he loved ATV`s very much, but he did not enjoy it as he died in a car accident 2 months ago. It brings very bad memories to me and my mother, since his birthday is in 3 weeks so here it is. I want to get rid of it as my mother also cannot stand looking at it. Here people won't pay this amount for a ATV as they prefer to buy a car for this money. All the manuals and the original documents are in English. It is made for US market and has US specs on it. The buyer will receive this along with all papers and receipts that he needs to register it in his name. The ATV is in London, UK and it will be shipped from here. Shipping will be done via TNT cargo-express and it will take no more then 3 days. I have a friend there who will manage me a low price shipping and I assumed that it is from me to pay for shipping it. When I will ship it, I will declare it as a gift so that you will pay no custom when you will receive it and for this it will be delivered directly to your address. Anyway, I have to let you know that I want a fast deal so if you are really interested in buying it, please reply with the following information: -Your full name; -Your shipping address; -Your eBay user id -Item number or ATV name as it was listed I need those info from you becouse i will forward your email to ebay. The transaction will close only through eBay so we both will be protected. I will look forward to your email, so that we can move forward with this deal. Thank you."
or it would be a good prank to pull on one of your friends....selling his/her car without them knowing...that would be annoying as hell with all the emails
or it would be a good prank to pull on one of your friends....selling his/her car without them knowing...that would be annoying as hell with all the emails. I remember doing something like that to a friend back in highschool. We put his brand new 1996 jeep in the classifieds for $200, with his home phone #.
that car was on Ebay...a while back the real owner was selling it...I think he was claiming 500whp...Funny what Cut and paste can do...
