Seth Green is a dork too... and a leprachaun. I think thats what makes him funny. Macfrarland is just a comedic genius.
Hey slavboy is tivo cheap yet? I'm holding out till I can record a weeks worth of shows for a couple hundred bux.

If you get the stand alone TiVo, its like $14 a month, If you get it through DirecTV or Dish, its like $5 plus your program services.

I think right now the box is like $50 and the service is 12.50 a month or 300 for a lifetime subscription

I love Family Guy!! I like the episode where Quagmire goes up to a house party with a bunch of young girls partying, knocks on the door and the girl answers,

Quagmire - "So how old are you???"
    Girl - "16"
    Quagmire - "18!!!! Alright"
    Girl - " MOOOOOOMMMM!!!!"
Quagmire - " I like where this is headed already, giggity giggity giggity"

    Average family guy episode:

80's joke from popular culture fad -> 80's joke from unpopular cultural fad -> insufferable baby w/ rex reed impersonation -> Self obsessed creator muse dog spouts platitudes/obnoxious sacntimonious thought -> "Homer Simpson Xtreme (aka peter griffin) does something homer simpson would do, only "Xtreme" -> Barely rewritten marge simpson wife reacts -> more 80's cultural references, which are considered to be funny as writ, and are occasianally overlong and unfunny as anything but a non-sequitur -> obnoxious children sublot with whiny voices -> alternate characters outside of main characters all have the same "avuncular 50's guy" voice that describes the limitations of mcfarlane's vocework introduce unfunny and rapid fire joke sequences -> obnoxious rex reed baby makes a new catchprase for t shirts sold in wal marts-> occasionally funny neighborhood sexual deviant comes up with episode's only funny joke -> 80's popular culture reference #16973 -> cloying, easily written (deux ex machina is fine) ending in which homer xtreme somehow proves that while 100% void of any redeeming characteristics his family should continue to accept him.

Dont even get me started on american dad. It's like a hopper bin full of jokes rejected fromt he family guy, and with the family guy's joke a minute "lets throw up 600 things and maybe one will stick" writing style it's hard to fathom what is actually bad enough to make the cut to end up in that recycling bin.

I prepare to be heaped with scorn/pity/insults now, as apparently family guy is critic proof to anyone ages 10-30 I have talked to in the last 3 years. I find it funny that statistically almost none of these people watched the show when it originally aired however, I dont recall as single person ever telling me it was remarkable, except as a failed remake of the simpsons only this time "turned to 11"

I hope it stops soon. Along with "celebutantes," awfully dressed people giving slovenly people fashion advice shows, the general media presence of donald trumps ego, and people sitting around playing card games as a repleacement for a television industry that ran out of ideas 15 years ago.

I was pi$$ed when they first took it off the air and figured not enough people understood the good humor. The show always has a reference to something I remember from my childhood...like Michael and Knightrider or when the Kool-Aid guy comes crashing through the wall~OH YEAH!!!!

I love the episode where they try to reform quagmire. They're all arguing in the front yard, when that giant chicken jumps outa nowhere and starts fighting peter. Best fight sequence ever! Gotta love any Indian Jones reference.

And then the second time they took it off the air... and then... and then... even now it seems like they dont have a regular schedule!
Its definitely one of my favorite shows bc of the random references but sadly they havent been able to really develop the plot (aside from sundays episode and the 3-part stewie movie) or really provide any potent social commentary probably bc of their crude humor... the fcc must really love them. I dont expect much more than slap-stick comedy and potty humor from any prime time cartoons shown in america anymore so family guy fits the bill perfectly... i definitely agree with esperunit about American Dad tho...
Anyway, my favorite episode is def the pawtucket pat brewery/willy wonka parody episode.

^Kind of like Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Yeah, I agree that American Dad sucks.
And the Simpsons will forever rule because they started the whole prime time cartoon thing years and years ago.

^for sure. at least there are some great cartoons on cable! boondocks, futurama re-runs, all the old school cartoons, etc... Sadly I cant imagine the day any good show (animated or not) will be aired on prime time network tv... maybe it is time for a tivo huh?

It's ALWAYS time for a TIVO! I used to like the simpsons but they seem to have lost something over the years. They've been on so long that I fear they've run outta material. And South Park i'm still kinda sitting on the fence about i mean sometimes it's hilarious and sometimes it's just freaking wierd.

haha! Its settled... springs put on hold for tivo!
agreed. new simpsons is just a bunch of of one-liners. Even the halloween specials let me down nowadays. The writers for that show have really let it go down the toilet. and imo south park is aweful save for the movie and the chinpokemon episode!
