Fargo meet 11/20 foodz eating situation

Ok well since people can't seem to make up their minds on where the heck they'd like to eat, here's a poll. We'll just see where this goes I guess.

Leela Thai Cuisine: We could have the whole restaurant to ourselves because prodriver1 knows the gm or somethin. The only drawback is it sounds like $15 for a plate of food and a drink. EDIT: There will more than likely be some kind of buffet. We will also have the whole place to ourselves to party up in that night!

Old Chicago: Pizza and beer. $3 long islands friday I believe. I don't think they have any other specials though.

Applebees: half price appetizers.

Buffalo Wild Wings: My only thought is that they might not be able to set up too many big tables, so it might be hard to all sit together.

Grill: Cost effective, but we only have a small grill to work with and it might get cold if we're outside all evening eating haha.

Edit: After hearing more about Leela Cuisine, I'd like to make an executive decision to just go there. This way we'll have a place to hang out after we eat as well. Please don't hate me If the money thing is really a big issue for you then I'm sure we can work something out as a group when the time comes).

HEY!! i have already got the restaurant closed down and food orders have gone out! if we dont all go there this will be messed up and we wont get our private party not to mention i worked realy hard on this

Um, what do you suggest people do if they would rather not spend $15 on a meal? After all, you were the first one to speak up and say you were so broke you could barely afford gas let along an expensive meal. You didn't seem to really get a group opinion for Leela Thai before you went ahead doing whatever you did. I don't want to shoot down your hard work, but I'm wondering if you have some sort of option we can give to the cheapo's on the board

 

Yeah, $15/plate doesn't sound apetizing; however, the entire place to ourselves is kinda cool. I'm game for whatever...

 

alright but i need to call and tell him were not dong it cuz were down to the wire now. i went ahead and got the place for us cuz no one had anything decided and it is almost time to go and i thought it would be nice to have a private place to make us feel special.

 

I agree that it would be cool to have our own place and not worry about making reservations, but at the same time I'm not super excited about $15 for food I've never had lol. Why don't we let the poll run for the majority of the day and you can call your buddy this evening and let them know weather we decide to go or not.

 

i agree with brian i do like that you out of the goodness of your heart did all the work to get this thing planned out but 15 a plate dosent sound like its something alot of us can afford. 15 for a buffet would be a different story its still alot but you can still find something you like and eat a crap load of it lol. the place to ourselfs is a sweet deal though no doubt about that.

 

well the thing is if we dont all go there we dont get a private party cuz they would be loosing out on business. thats how i got us a locked down restaurant, because we were all going there. not enough people = no party and i cant just tell him we cant do it @ the last min cuz then he would have an empty restaurant and no business.

 

Hey, guys.

Like I said, I don't wanna stamp on Prodrive's hard work, but it seems like people are pretty torn about this money vs place to yourself thing.

A lot of the restaurants on that poll are sit down places with one plate offered.

There's an all you can eat Mongolian stir fry grill on 45th st in Fargo callled Huhot. We won't need reservations, and it's about $11-12 for all you can eat + drink refills. The food's really good. Waitresses are cute. They have alcohol, although I think all they have is sake, but we can always move somewhere else for drinks.

Does anyone want to add that to the poll list?

and a 15 dollar plate will be huge and i WILL get us more. i always do, so it will be a buffet for stuff like fried rice and spring rolls its just that this is a really good restaurant and food usually costs a lot more there.

oh no no. i didnt think you were being mean, im very excited to hang out with my suby brethren its just hat i worked really hard on this whole thing. and ive been in the restaurant biz for 12 years and trust me its not easy to get a whole restaurant for a bunch of hooligans but when it comes down to it i will chill anywhere, it will be totally fun no matter what

 

Hohut ends up being $15 pretty much.

I think a lot of sit down restaurants would not be to happy about a group of 20+.

Yeah, you're probably right. I was just goin for the all-you-can-eat factor. But I'm totally down with anything.

 

Plus all those places will probably be pretty busy with lack of parking, I probably won't be able to eat with you guys and not meet up til 6, I've got a ton of house work and help is coming over at 9 so I'll only be out for a while.

 

^again, word theirs a lot of convenience and luxury to take into account not just price.

 

Personally, I think its too late to be changing the poll. We need to come to a decision soon, and changing the poll is just going to add confusion.

^yesterday!^ i said i always get more. i just thought we would do whatever was planed, its not just eating in fargo its driving all the way to fargo and whatever is planed will be what we do. dont forget im driving all day to get to you guys, gas money wear on an already damaged car and being away from my baby boy are not things i want. but i do want to hang out with you guys and party like a rockstar please lets do leela thai it will be worth it.

 

Knowing that I will not be left hungry is a good thing and is kind of swaying me to Leela Thai.

I don't know many ppl from the cities on this board, so I don't know if you're some 16 year old kid trying to look cool and make friends and gunna get us screwed with our eating plans.
