no, that was a word of mouth rumor that circulated for years and like most urban legends, grew. He was rocking a T76 turbo before which usually net mid 700's and sometimes dip into low 800's on cobras, all depending on tune and whether it has alky spray. He now has a bigger turbo setup (T88) and NO intercooler. Just a Straight 4" pipe running from turbo into intake manifold and spraying meth.
If you believe you only made 999.7 your smoking some good stuff. And how many "stock" motor's has he blown up? I hear a certain Ford dealer has one on stock at all times ready for him...lol
que??? he's gone through 3, and the only mods done to this one is valvsprings that did nothing. The motor is oem from the oil pan to the valve covers.
He gained 80rwhp by removing the intercooler and 4 less psi. :dunno: I suppose at that kind of flow an IC would be a serious flow restriction.
i don't know why he'd lie about it. I know what cobras make on certain mods. I also talk to dan personally at db and he said the same thing about the numbers...
it wasn't the intercooler, it was the 2.5" piping into and out of it. now he's running 4" piping straight in.
Thats low number for doing a turbo swap. **** there was a cobra running around with supercharger and spray making some 700 whp.
im going to have to agree with dream. mark beat franys build busa from a roll. he had to spray to pull on mark. now franys raced a lot of people on his bike and there are a hand full of people making more then 1000whp that he beats but 999whp can stay ahead of him?
Who makes 999 whp and says stop there? LOL Tell me he wouldnt lean that bioch out just a tad to make 1000whp? Doesnt matter, he makes over 1000whp.
i bet it'll make over 1000 on a cool night on the street. He's tuned within an ounce of its life with alky and race gas. This is the highest stock cobra out there. I don't know why you guys would think it makes more than that. There hasn't been a cobra in the USA that makes more power than this on a stock engine. Read the thread. /rant
No, but i know Dan and was at his shop the day after it happened and he was in my cell phone store the day after that talking about it for a while. I'm just saying, its never been done and have never seen a cobra make more than that. That's like me saying a stock STi made 1000whp. it doesn't happen and if it did it'd be miraculous. Same situation here. I don't know why you'd think a STOCK motor car would make more than 1000whp. Everyone thought that he was making 1000whp with the old setup, and he was no where near that.
