infernal affairs (a great flick from asia, the departed was based on this movie. and i think is the better version)
pretty much my whole collection of 100+ dvd's are obscure movies, too many to list but here are some. Darren Aranofski films - pi, requiem for a dream, the Fountain Tim Burton films - Edward scissorhands, The nightmare before xmas, Big Fish Guy Ritchie Films - Lock Stock and 2 smoking barrels, snatch Guillermo Del Toro films - The Devil's Backbone, Pan's Labyrinth Of course: Donnie Darko, Resevoir Dogs, Boondock saints, Boiler Room (probably most favorite). That's all i can think of off the top of my head.
If you like war movies........check out "when trumpets fade." One of the best war movies I've seen....I was quite surprise it did not receive a lot of press. Also, "Full Metal Jacket."

I don't really consider boondock saints obscure anymore.....but an awesome movie nonetheless also, love Tim Burton. nightmare before xmas is my girlfriend's favorite movie of all time. Sleepy hollow, and we just saw Sweeny Todd ditto on Guillermo.....love Pan's Labyrinth, crazy as it is. also Hellboy and Blade 2. only thing I have to add is Serenity (or anything by Joss Whedon really....)
Mystery Men - best superhero movie ever! The Zero Effect Young Einstein Three Colors Trilogy (too late to type French correctly) [Kieslewski who did these films also wrote Heaven but didn't film it] Tom Tykwer films - Run Lola Run, The Princess and the Warrior, Heaven (^Kieslewski), Winter Sleepers Wim Wenders films - Kings of the Road in the Course of Time, Alice in the City, Until the End of the World, Wings of Desire, Far away, So Close!, The End of Violence, Million Dollar Hotel, Don't Come Knocking Blade Runner (Serenity -also great- made me think of this. Thx, Chux) 12 Monkeys in summary: Wim Wenders FTW!
