A TRUE winter subaru

Here are a couple of our ice racer/RallyCross car.

I am Mark Utecht and have been racing cars for over 20 years.

The car is a 1999 2.5 RS salvage recovery. The drivetrain is stock except the rear and center diffs are welded. We have a custom made warm air intake that pulls air from the cabin to eliminate ice dust and snow clogging the intake system. We have a custom built roll cage and racing seat with harnesses and side restraint nets. The interior is gutted except for the dash. We have Hotbits gravel spec suspension and brakes off an L model to allow 14" wheels for cheaper wheels and tires.

Any future mods may include an STi drivetrain and lexan windows.

The best feature of this car is the low cost for an AWD race car.

The Wagon is as sexxy as it gets, I'm in Europe right now and I must say this car would make the Audi and Bmer boys take a second look.

The Mayhem Racing Subaru is continuing it's winning ways. This weekend, we won the 2 hour endurance race by ten laps. Two of the faster 2WD cars had mechanical issues but we were WELL in front of them (by laps) when they broke. Thanks to all for voting!

What if she did join to vote? Is there a problem with that? I guess the last thing we want is more folks interested in our group.

I'd hate for a newbie to join and vote in a poll and just happen to read something else. Maybe they will happen to read a post about an upcoming event, maybe what kind of car they might like to get, maybe even the ramblings of an old fat guy that has driven race cars for a while. How dare they disrespect this pinnacle of automotive competition that is the MNSubaru Car of the Month contest. I mean careers are at stake fer chrissakes.

Justin, you just happened to take a poke at one of my most dedicated crew members. She has shown the commitment that we should all strive for. Maybe you will, maybe you won't but I feel you owe her an apology just as public as your thinly veiled criticism.

Before any of you draw any conclusions about what kind of crew member a girl could be, I'll guarantee she has gotten dirtier than 90% of you working on a rally car at night, in the mud and rain.

isn't that a rather contradictory statement? If someone did join just to vote, would that truely be showing interest in mnsubaru? Actual interest would be more than joining just to vote once (note I am not directly commenting on anyone that did join just to vote (whether that be true or not), simply addressing this statement).

You were clearly calling for her to justify joining to vote. I was just helping her out. That's what a team is about.

 

Yeah, whatever the reason people join our site (as long as their not spammers, etc) we want to be welcoming to them. Heck, I joined JUST to buy a few parts for my car and met some great people on the site and ended up sticking around.

A nice little competition like this is a great way to draw in some new members. Sometimes jokes can be taken the wrong way, so especially when dealing with new members just try to be nice.

Anyway, the voting is still pretty close, one of the more active car of the month votes yet.

in all honestly i was just pointing out a possible troll so you mods would take notice if you didnt see. nothing personal, just keeping an eye out for things.
