    Need a 18g or 20G New,Injectors, fuel pump, VF39 for sale

I'm Looking for a New 18G, I have a used VF39 In good condition. I'm trying to find a new 18G in the next week. I'm having everything installed the 4th of febuary. Also a fuel pump, and some modified injectors or some 800cc injectors. I've found a new 18G for $800, and injectors for around $500 so anything less would be good. I'll trade the VF39 or sell it for $350 to fund the upgrades. I'm really shooting for 300 whp. So I'm spending the money and going with a more long term New turbo.

I suppose I will be the first to say: I would consider nothing smaller than a 20g as a VF39 upgrade:)

    PS- did you check nasioc?

I didn't check with Nasioc yet, 20g would be a good upgrade? why not a 18g, I was told the 18g is a better quality turbo, a 20g is bigger but I'm not totaly looking for bigger, I guess I'll consider it what are the pros and cons?

spools like a 20g with the power of a 16g. I have one and I would not buy another. After tuning cars with the 20g on them and comparing that to my 18g (with a 2.0L motor), might as well jump right to the 20g. 20g on pump gas will run 300whp all day and 350+ on race gas.

Search every dyno day for the last 5 years since the STI's came out. Pretty much standard stuff on the sti. Probably want to upgrade to a large MAF also since you will definitely be maxing out the stocker.

Maybe, sounds like a sweet setup to me I think I'll still need a new fuel pump. Would a Walbro 255 work, anyone have one, or know of a good place to buy one new?

Jump for the bigger to make the most out of the 20G.

TD06H-20G-8cm^2. Don't be afraid of spool up from down low. You're not racing from 2500-4500rpms. Once you're up there in the 4000rpms and up it doesn't take long for the turbo to jump to 20psi-probably 500-800rpms only from vacuum to 20psi.

255 is standard, I was gonna take Dipp up on that turbo but it is just too big for my 2.0. I would have bought it hands down if I had a 255 like you.

Dipp - if the OP doesn't take you up on the 20G/bits please LMK (yes, that is a large, meaty hand raise).

FP Green, been thru the 20g on a 2.5l. Pretty much the same prices compared to DB 20G. More volume less stress.

lol. I love these threads. The turbo suggestions keep getting bigger and bigger as the posts go on :).

I agree that there is not much of a difference between an 18g and VF39, but a TD06 20g 8cm will not spool the same as an 18g. The smaller variety 20g's often do, but expect 400-600 RPM loss of spool going with the big hotside.

Dont you have a 18G that spools up like a 39 but with more top end?

Hehe, yeah. The 18g I have (TD05 7cm) has around 100-150 (hard to find vf39 cfm numbers) more CFM then the VF39 at redline, which is significant, but the increased cfm is on the upper end of the compressor map.

So, the only real difference between the turbos is between 5k-redline on 2.5L WRX's. With the same timing, you can run about 2 PSI more through this range with the 18g. This translates to around 10-15 more peak WHP.

Go big or go home, 35r is too small!

you'll be fine with either an 18g or 20g

Didn't say it was! My point is made though, as my 18g spools to 20 PSI by about 3200.

VF39 is smaller than a vf30/34. Same cold side and a smaller hot side.
Then you are comparing td06h/8cm to a td05h/7cm hot sides. That is where the big difference in spool comes from. I have the 05h/7cm combo and would never purchase that small of a hotside again. Now you throw this stuff on to a 2.5l motor and it is a whole new ballgame.

Either way, you will be more than happy with a 20g, just make sure you have all the supporting mods to keep everything happy.

Yup, that's basically exactly what I said. The td05/7cm and td06/8cm are very different turbos. And yeah, they behave differently on the 2.5L. :)

if you're just looking for 300awhp...that first setup would make that just fine...
fp 8cm 18G plus supporting mods would do the job...as that's what i have...;)

Big MAF is the intake ( short ram ) with filter. gets rid of the airbox.
