Over the past couple weeks I started hearing some gear chatter in 1st gear. So I drained some gear oil and out came a tooth. So, 1st gear is in pretty bad shape. The car still drives even in 1st gear. Every other gear is quite. There are no other issues with this car. This is mostly a feeler until I figure out what it will cost me to fix it and if I can afford it right now or not. This car has been well taken care of. Sythetic oil changes every 3,000 miles. Recently changed the tranny and rear diff oil in the last 2 weeks (Extra S 75w-90). Also forgot catless STi Uppipe, Carbon Fiber dash inserts (not the overlay kind), SPT Short Shifter, Rubber Subaru mats, Karboy shifting knob and Alignment done by "Jeff the Alignment Guy" I can include the stock BCS and a stage 2 tune that has the stock boost map if you are interested in autocross and want to stay in STX Shoot me an offer!
Just found out a stock transmission rebuild for this car would be about $1000 from andrewtech or around $3500 for PPG gears. So if anyone is interested in taking the time to send the tranny off to andrewtech this would be a good buy!! All offers considered!
I saw that! kind of tossing it around in my mind...I'll have to shoot the guy an offer maybe, if i come up with the money
Someone could potentially by the WRX and that totalled STi and do a swap! The guy selling the STi seems very flexible on the price. I would do it, but I can't afford to buy the parts car or have the time to complete the swap.
