like it says, im contemplating selling my accessport for the 05-09 Legacy GT. I am currently running the stage 2 91 oct. map and i am very happy with it for now. I dont use the tuner enough to be satisfied with the price i paid. screen has a scratch but it really isnt anything bad, girlfriend got a hold of it and a scratch came from it. if interested just pm me or respond in the comments and ill be thinking about the sale. thanks!
You do know that you can't keep the tune if you sell the AP right? Well I mean you can, but you'd totally screw the guy who bought it because they wouldn't be able to use it. You have to "unmarry" it from your car before it can be installed anywhere else. Just want to make sure you know how that whole thing works, kinda sounds like you think you'd be retaining the tune...
well thank you haha i did not know that i couldn't just leave it tuned and unmarry it. looks like my selling decision has been made!
Part of the unmarrying process is restoring the ECU to whatever condition it was in before you married it. No soup for you. You could go the open source route and get comparable results with some change in your pocket. There are a couple open source tuners on the board that could set you up with a good tune (better than Cobb OTS) without the tying you to one platform for considerably less ching than what you should be able to get for the AP. That's a good option if you want a tune but don't really care about having a turnkey logging/tuning device on hand.
Hmmm? I meant he should unmarry it (since he still has it), sell it for the $400 (unmarried) and then go get himself an open source tune. Plenty o' profit for that route...
Just so you know a 05-06 lgt uses a different ap then 07-09. The older lgt's use the sub- 002 and the newer use the sub-003.
There's an e-tuner on legacygt.com (infamous1) who will do an opensource tune for you for substantially less than the price of an A/P. I've got a tastefully modified '05 LGT and use the A/P to load my custom maps. Could have gone open source but I wanted to work with the shop that tuned my car.
