I don't know if someone else on here does these or not. I happened to be in the area yesterday while I was working  , and stopped by their shop. Talked to a few people about different options setups prices. I'm needing new brakes soon, so I was just wondering about any interest in this, then I'll work out details. I saw a very nice 2 piece setup that got me drooling :yumyum: .

Yep, I do a GB every spring. Make sure you talk to Mark Link and make sure you tell him that you are part of MNSubaru. He has a pretty good price for us anyways.

I've got some 4 pots on the way, might be a good time to replace the rotors.

Do you use a torque wrench to tighten down all your lugs to the same specs?

Do you properly bed your pads/rotors when you change either of them out?

Do you put on your emergency brake when parking when your brakes are still hot?

Any one of those things (plus a host of others) can cause warping. Those are just the most common.

edit: I may be interested in getting some of these for the Legacy. I will be doing some brake work next week and will have the chance to fully inspect everything and decide if I'm getting new pads/rotors or not.

I've read that rotors rarely (if ever?) warp. It's typically uneven brake material build-up from improperly bedding in the brakes or letting hot brake pads sit on the rotor (leaving a brake pad "foot print" on the rotor).

I think I posted the white paper explaining it in the gb thread from last time.

I got cryo-slotted rotors all around with hawk pads. BIG improvement and highly recomended.

That's what I was hinting at. Uneven wear from mis-torqued wheels, and not bedding in, and pad imprints on the rotors from parking with hot rotors.

I bet you and I read the same white paper (StopTech, right).

Ever since I started torqueing, bedding in properly, and parking my car using the gear instead of the e-brake I haven't had ANY brake shimmy or signs of warpage.

Besides, bedding in pads is FUN.

Yes. Just bed them in properly. (60 - slow, ten times in a row. Let brake system cool off to ambient, and repeat). A good place to do this in town is on 494/694 late at night.

Do the first slow/fast/slow/fast on a deserted stretch, then cruise 1/2 the loop to cool the whole system. Repeat, and go home. It needs to be deserted because slowing down to ~5mph on 494 is not illegal... just irritating.

I would be down for this. I screwed up and missed the last one.

At a minimum I would be down for another set of HPS pads....but I might be talked into some rotors.

I am going to guess that Mark will come back with the same prices that he gave me in the spring. You could look in my thread, that will get you very close. Also Taras, if you don't have some kinda of performance pads, now is a good time to pick some up. Mark gives out KILLER deals on the hawk hps pads.
