So my boss bought a Ferrari Italia 458, and today I got to drive it. All I have to say is wow. The fastest most amazing car I have ever driven. The response of everything is instant, the transmission shifts, the throttle, the suspension, the steering, was all just instant. You can't even tell you shifted a gear up, you hit the paddle on the wheel and instantly you are up in the next gear, the car doesn't jerk or anything, it's seamless. The best way to describe the throtle response is Violent, incredibly responsive, loud, and ridiculously powerful. I got on it from first, in no time at all I was in 4th doing 127mph, with the car seeming like it wasn't even trying hard. I was in 4th, the car has 7 gears lol. The car is gorgeous in and out, and overall just an incredibly amazing machine. Now when I read magazine editors saying it's the best car they have ever driven, I truly believe every word. Simply amazing, the best car driving experience of my life.
At least you can now die happy...Since you have now test driven a 458! (no death wish, i kid) I think all paddle shifts are meant to be smooth. The fastest and most expensive car i've driven is an 09 Nissan GT-R... I put the pedal to the medal and the thing was moving effortlessly. The funny thing is that cars in the left lane that were a mile away ahead of me, were moving to the right lane clearing the way for me like I was driving an ambulance doing close to 130 mph. I loved how the GT-R rev- matched itself during downshifts...
There was one of those along with a few others last time I spent a long week at BIR. A private owner had brought up a dozen of his collection for the day along with a few friends. All of which had less than 1k miles on them and the most expensive was the Porsche GT Carrera. I got to test drive the Ferrari 430 and 599 GTO. I liked the feel and look of the GTO and with much longer paddle shifters then most, downshifting was a bit harsh as I wasn't expecting it cause I had taken my foot off the gas. If I was going to buy a Ferrari I would probably get a GTO 599, but I guess I'm not really a Ferrari guy since I never felt connected lol. Congrat's on the test drive!
Talking about a nissan in the same thread as a ferrari should be a bannable offense. The GTR is NOT an exotic, any car with a rear seat is NOT AN EXOTIC!
That maybe the opinion of the majority, but of all the cars that was there at the above event I've mentioned I didn't truly liked any of them. I've driven many cars and I can tell you the Nissan is in a class of it's own, above the majority of these so called exotic/super cars. I would pick a nissan any day of the week.
Drool? I wanted to make babies with it. The freakin rear calipers and rotors are the same size as the fronts on my Sti. The front rotors are XL pizza size with giant sized calipers that look like a foot and half long. The whole car just screams **** you! I've driven a Bentley continental, Gt3, gt3 Rs, and a Gt3 rsr cup car. None of them came even close to how cool this car. You can imagine how it felt to get in my Subaru to drive home lol. Like going from a hayabusa to a moped lol
That is exactly what the "little more" was referring to. Were all those cars your bosses or have you had other great opportunities to drive those vehicles?
