I'm not going to ruin the suprise, because this build is going to be nuts, but here are some pics to give you all a teaser. See if you can figure out some of the craziness. and one of his dog. who is sweet.
okay think less rediculous than that carl haha, hes running the stock RS tranni for petes sake. clue #2: He has a top mount
I'm thinkin 16er. I'm gonna wait for him to break the news of his project, because he's put a lot of time into it, and a lot of his own blood, sweat, and tears in trying to get everything working. I believe the projected time on the project finishing up was this weekend...but we'll see. he wasnt shooting for mad numbers, but there ill be another turbo GC in the family very soon, and one that is PERFECT asthetically.
please not a 16G I have a 20G and my car runs out of breath at 90. so by my calculations you will be some where lest than that.:ugh::ugh::ugh:
haha we'll see what he goes with. he hasnt selected a turbo yet, but its got to be something that makes numbers his tranni can withstand. i should have rephrased it. its not going to be some crazy rotated intake manifold 40R straight cut tranni setup, and it wont have a 20pt roll cage or halon suppression system, because thats not what he wants in the car. it will be clean as hell, and have MORE than enough power to back up its looks.
have you been in a 20g car? you are use to the power in a week or so. to each there own but anything less then a 35r is not a very top end happy turbo or continues to feel like you have allot of power. a 20g is a good healthy happy medium setup. if your not going to be racing allot and staying in the 300's or putting money in the drive train then its a good choice.
I know the 20g is a pretty good mid range turbo, but i wouldnt think 9o to be over the powerband on his set-up. :dunno:
an auto doesn't loose boost like a manual does. and on a 4 speed i would think it would be close to out of breath seems how most of the graphs i have seen seem lazy up top of each gear. a built motor runs like a stock one. it just gives you a longer life span and allows for more abuse. a stock bottom end will handle a 20g just fine for the kind of power it makes. its not going to give more top end on that turbo any more then a stock sti would have.
