I have an annoying problem with my RS, so any help would be great.

It seems like the gas is not going down fast enough when filling up gas at the pump and it's causing the pump to stop abruptly. I'm forced to either pump really slow or pump for a few seconds, wait until the gas goes down a bit and re-pump and it’s driving me nuts.

Is there some kind of pressure valve or something clogged?

I’ve been having this problem since I bought this car, so I don’t know exactly when it started. I initially thought it was the pump, but after trying various other gas stations to no avail, I think it’s time to seek some help.

Thanks for any help. Car is a 00 RS w/ 70k on the clock.

Wow. I've seen this problem in a few Suburbans (with a 40-gallon tank its a big deal) when I worked at a Chevy dealership. There's a check/rollover valve, and in chevy its in the tank itself. Any subie guys care to help? Get a diagram from a dealer?

I have this problem on my Matrix. Just stick the pump in like 3/4 instead of all the way to the hilt. Works for my Matrix. Could be totally unrelated tho.
