that commercial sadly would be in real life a terrible idea. It only compares itself to a mitsubishi evo. So Still hasn't told me anything about the car or why it would be better, just that other people drive them. Its nonsensical if you don't already know about subarus. What ahppens, you buy one and you all of a sudden have a bunch of other subaur driving friends? Most drivers this never happens to This kind of ad appeals a lot to people who are already evangelized, if you already are involved with the subaru community you will probably love it because it speaks to why you love subarus. And if this is the case, you don't really need to be advertised to because there is a large chance you already own a subaru or favor them. But if you are not it doesn't give you any reason to buy one other than that "it makes you popular" which is the same basic strategy they have been using to sell everything from coke to hairspray for 100 years. so it might be funny to people on nasioc and in subaru clubs, but it wont sell any cars to people who don't know anything about subarus and that is what subarus ads should be designed to do.
