It looks like our friend Von Damian is at it again. It is that time of the year. Time to get back on the track. They are hosting their first event on April 11 & 12 $150 each or $300 for both days. MAM 19340 Jesup Ave. Pacific Junction, IA 51561 ROAD COURSE - Completed April 2002. Mid-America's road course is a 2.23-mile gem. Designed by world-renowned designer Alan Wilson, the track has already become a much sought after venue for many of the nation's top motor sports organizations. The track surface is second to none with an incredibly tire-friendly compound that will greatly reduce tire wear, and will promote safer adhesion for all types of vehicles. http://www.findtheline.com/index.asp Track Map: http://www.findtheline.com/forms/MAM.pdf Tech form: http://www.findtheline.com/forms/ftl_hpde_tech_form.pdf http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/2006/default.asp
We might be heading to this event, but it depends on too many things to tell right now haha. I definitely want to drive on this track sometime this summer though.
i love MAM! have yet to drive on it tho, only ridden on it with others (several laps with damian i might add). Might be a little soon for me, but just have to wait and see what happens with getting the teg out for summer.
I just noticed something. What the hell is a tire friendly surface? Is that like the polar opposite of whatever they paved Valleyfair with?
I will be going to this event. Anybody else from the forum going interested in a caravan? Let me know!
Well it is pretty smooth. I think their description was somewhat embelished though. IMO the track is not truely finished, also the surface isn't that great and they don't have real fia curbing. I don't even need to mention the paddock, as anyone thats been there before knows how nice it is. All that said I like MAM since it's in the middle of a field and has tons of run off. It's also a pretty fun design.
damn i wish i had the spare change to go to this... but $$$ is going to break upgrades and paying off some debts
I wish I could come, you have no idea how disappointed I am. Get some videos of your run if you can, I'll just drool!
Both days are a go. Online registration is closed, but you can show up and pay if you want. Anyone going down tommorow? I'm leaving early afternoon and would love to have an STI or WRX for the cops to pay attention to. i do have a scanner and a 9500i (though won't be driving that fast, Iowa State Patrol is scary)
Looks like a great group of drivers signed up. Saturday is full and Sunday still has some openings. Enjoy Nick!

Wish I could go, with easter this weekend it makes it a no go plus Im leaving for washington monday for the rally. Heading out early to get the rallyworx car in for some early practice.
Insanly awesome event. I burned through the last 6-4/32 of my RE-01Rs, I'm still waiting on the brake pad damage (haven't looked at the yet). Sunday had 16 cars signed up. 10 didn't show. :eek4: 4 left early 1 was still trying to figure out its tuning 1 was me. My own private track (well, except for the ~20 minutes the tuning car was out there) after 1PM FTW!
So that was the damage as a result of a awsome weekend. So give us some cliff notes on how your day went and your overall performance on the track with the LGT!
