mods i know you have been deleting basically all posts relating to the new awdaddicts.com club but i'd really like to talk about university in a civil manner and not have it just deleted. i'm not sure how many know but i've secured the china island restaurant's parking lot under the awdaddicts club name...however which club its secured under has no relevance to me, mnsubaru/aa it doesnt matter. We are all friends and we all want to hang out together and thats all that matters. with that said. i started persuing speaking with the owner before i even thought about starting a new club. the reason is because mnsubaru has no permission to be there and we've simply outgrown the firestone lot. It stinks that cops can come in there at any time and kick us out if they wanted to. It also stinks that a ton of our prides and joys have to be parked in the back lot so no one can really even see them...and some ppl dont even get parking spots. I know that "firestone" has been a staple of our club but sometimes clubs evolve(get bigger) and need bigger and better places to stay. The lot was a perfect size when we were smaller but we've really grown alot since then and most likely the combined awda/mns clubs will only draw more ppl out wanting to park. I truly dont want a "you parking at the mns or awda lot?" situation in the least bit but i truly believe we need to take opportunities like this when we can. god knows its very rare to find dedicated lots that we have permission to. please discuss thanks guys
whats not to like about it... firestone is known for subarus but if we all jumped and didnt leave anyone behind at firestone there would be no confusion to whats goin on... especially if it's in a lot we have permision to be in
Your postes were not deleted they were moved to the Admin forum which is part of our policy of review. Mnsubaru does have permission to be at Firestone with the oral agrement with the owner of the building and Russ. Russ would need to shed some more light on that part. As for not getting kicked out, you will still get kicked out unless you go inside and eat. The Police are 100% in there right to clear the street at a time of there choosing. Just because the owner agrees to let you be there does not mean the police will not come and clear the lot. Police>owner Seems like we are going down the same road again. Didnt we just go through this two club thing just a couple of months ago and it didnt work? But you are here again putting people in a akward posission again?
Take this however you wish. I've only been over there a couple times...but awdaddicts is NOT mnsubaru part 2 or whatever. He isn't splitting the club. His site actually has alot of Audi participation. From what he has told me and from what I've seen, it is more of a AWD enthusiast site. Just my two cents. There is an opportunity to meet people with cars that aren't just subarus. It reminds me of AWJunkies, only without all the pompous celebrity cock riding.
:eek4: Too bad i missed that. I think it sounds like a good idea, a bigger lot, more room to show off our beauties and also a place to meet new people and just have a good time, not to mention eat if were hungry.
Well, we (mnsubaru) does have permission to be in the firestone lot. But like Bikerboy said, they cops will kick everyone out. Hell last weekend the police were kicking everyone out of Porky's. Russ
The owner has personally spoken with the police department and from what the owner has told me is that they will not be able to kick us out as long as he's open, which is like until 1230 or so i think. Plus i'll have signed written permission so if the owner is gone we are still ok.
