Just installed Tien s type lowering springs. 2 inch drop in front .7 in rear. Personaly I like them alot. The car handles better and looks better. And for the 165 dollar shipped price. I could not beat it. Before
AHH very nice, same thing i did to my car. it looks so much better than the stock springs. now just paint those sideskirts and you car will look even better haha.
Yeah I have to get the hatch resprayed and I will do the side skirts then. I also dont know why everyone bashes those springs. I like them. They ride good, better handling, and the car looks better.
So they think the springs are not stiff enough? If thats the case I am glade I bought these. I just wanted the look. Its not like this car will ever see the auto cross track anyways.
Poor subaru. I said autocross track. Not drag strip. I am hoping to get this car close to the 12's with a 18G. And actually the car handles better then the stock springs in it.
So will those just give you the look without the rough ride? I live in Duluth, where they believe that heaping asphalt 2 inchs higher than the road into a crack is fixing the pot hole. How do they feel over the tough stuff?
Just get some nice wheels. I'd recommend Sogonerg for the best price on Rota's around. He's the man. I mean... Girl! Also, skipping the autoX and going for drag is kinda backasswords for what subies were meant for. But if thats you shpeel, thats your shpeel.
I think it is stiff enough. I wasnt looking for a rock solid ride. If I wanted that I would get coil overs. I have tested it on a clover leaf on cedar. With stock springs I could take it at about 40-45 mph with the tires squealing. With the springs I can take the same ramp at about 55mph with no tire noise. I am sure I could go 60mph and make it fine. So all and all the springs are exactly what I wanted. Also the body roll is reduced alot.
Yeah I just have never been into autocross. I used to work on a road race car team and that was alright. I have just been a drag racer since forever. Subaru not ment for drag racing? I think there perfect. I have no traction problems what so ever. As for wheels I am getting the 5zegin five spokes in gun metal when spring hits. I am going to run the tires I have down and then get some snows for the stock rims.
You should try an autocross or two, you might like. It's fun to be fast in a straight line, but it takes skill to be fast in a autocross course. Try it and I bet you'll like it.
I am thinking about it. I want to do some brake upgrades before I abuse them. I am going to do slotted rotors with some Ferodo pads and steal braded lines.
I think that would be fun. After seening alot of road courses all over the country I have a few I would like to run on. Road Atlanta, Laguna, St. Petersburg. Those would be at the top of my list.
