i cant wait to go cruising in the snow, i can actaully race peopel and win, lol probably not.

anyway when do you think we will get the first snow fall of the year. only counts if the snow stays on the ground.

my bet is on November 29th.

The sooner the better, my bet is early November. Can't wait to trudge through the snow in my Subaru to get my snowboard up to the mountain. (well.... Spirit Mt. is more of a hill)

if this winter's anything like last year, we'll have it by mid november for sure! but the leaves are turning already up here, and I too have hear that it's supposed to be an early/long season this year, so I bet we have snow stick and stay within couple weeks of halloween (here in duluth)

    mwaaahahaha, I love duluth!

Hey my impreza's FWD and it totally rules. You can do things like reverse Doughnuts and e-braking w/o fletching something up. Man i can't wait till it snows again (preferably after school gets out for winter break so i don;t have to drive with those maniacs on the roads. Also plows suck, nothing like a wave of slush falling from the sky onto ur windshield as your're crusing at 55mph  )

Quick question: What air pressure do you guys have in your tires in the winter months? Skinny tires put more weight per sq. ft. of tire contact, but what about tire pressure?

    What the heck?

I thought this was going to be a prediction contest for guessing the date of the first snow. It should be anyway.

The prize shall be a handful of hot carl.

Techinically, it did, waaaay back at the end of Sept. According to the official record keepers anyway.... With regards to a "real" first snow, this isn't late by any means! My fingers are crossed for a storm soon, followed by another, and another, etc. :D It has to happen, my sled is in pieces in the garage, no more likely time for it to snow!

Fuji, when do you want your sunglasses back? :p

32-35 PSI, same as my summer tires.

If I'm trekking out into some freezing rain, sometimes I'll let some air out of all the tires (down to, say, 25 PSI). Makes for a softer and larger contact patch. That's good for traction, but BAD for WEAR, so I reinflate them once the ice has melted.

Second snow of the season is expected early next week!!! This time of the year where it's cool during the day and freezing at night is bad. Rain from the day becomes ice at night. I'll have my "expensively shipped" winter tires on in preparation for it!

flurries does not count as a snow, it has to acumulate on the ground for it to classify as a snow fall.

I am ready for the snow, bring it on.
