Hello fellow MNSUBARU people. Found out about this site through a friend that has an 07 STI (I believe it is an 07 ahah). Anyways, he told me about this site so I figured since I just bought a subaru I should hop on it. I am not new to cars, been working on them/messing with them for over 10 years. I have several Cars though not all of them run at the moment (haha). I just picked up a 99 Forester L for pretty low. Just decided to rebuild the motor (do the head gasket/seals/clutch/ignition/etc.) before I start Law school so I would have another reliable vehicle to use until I'm done with school. Ill post pics shortly of my "new" ride. Some pics--I just figured out how to edit on this talkatap app so sorry if I double posted the pics Ahha View attachment 7803 when I first picked it up. View attachment 7804 When I got back to my place. I forgot to mention it had 166k miles, 5spd and 2 owner car. The underbody was coated for winter protection so it wasn't rusty. Only rust I found was when I removed the rear bumper, and a quarter size spot on the driver 1/4 panel. It will all be fixed in the future.
Welcome to the forum man!. Make sure you ask all your questions, people here can be GREAT!!!! but it is the internet so... you will run into some people you wont like. I've been a noob to Subaru (I own a 02 WRX) for a couple of years, and for all the problems I have had, most of the members have helped out with their knowledge. Anyways!!! post some pictures of the ride and don't forget to get NFected when you are all done with your rebuild. Nuke from NF hooked me up and my car feels like a new bad girl!!!
Haha yeah. Well I'm looking into removing the front spacers and doing the sti suspension swap (cross member, control arms, etc) and utilizing the GD suspension to give the sf5 a "better" stance (basically same ride height as impreza). I have over 100 pictures from removing and disassembling the heads from the block so whenever I get to it I will probably open a build thread up (probably once I complete the rebuild and suspension swap).
