Hello All. I just bought my first Subaru ever about 2 weeks ago. It is a 2002 Outback with 145K miles. So far so good! I have a lot of learning to do with Subaru, so I'm hoping to find a lot of info here!

This is the right place for some information :)

    Where abouts are you located?
    Any pictures of the car?

    Also, welcome aboard!

Agreed! I've had subies for 10 years, but recently got my first turbo'd model (wrx) and have already learned ALOT about these cars. Welcome to the forum.

Subarus have 4 cylinders and they lay flat and they have awd, just kidding, Welcome, just make sure yours doesn't have that head gasket issue. I think the 00-04's have a head gasket problem.
You'll love driving a subaru, just like the rest......of us

Thanks all for the welcomes. I have heard about the head gasket issues. I've seen various opinions on what years were affected. Mostly I had heard 99-01 or so. So far, mine seems to be holding strong. I do plan on watching it closely.

Here's how it works with the NA 2.5L Subie's pre 05. Either you bought one that's had it replaced or you'll be replacing it. Simple as that.

Welcome to the forum. I also own a Legacy and love everything about it, however, mine is a 2.2l.

Not all Subarus have 4 cylinders. And not all of them are AWD. And some of them aren't horizontally opposed.
