09' WRX Base Model No Fogs I want to know if anyone knows if the wires are present even if I don't have the fog lights? I picked up some Factory fogs and want to install them. Just checking to see if I need to buy a wiring kit. FYI - I am not going to buy/use the OEM relay and switch. I am going to run my own wires and switch for my fogs so I can use them with or without high beams. I am just wondering if there is already a 9006 plug in the car that i can work with.
My base 09 came with fogs, but there are also wires for other things that are not present, like a turbo and things such as that, so I would imagine that there would be wires present even if you dont have factory fogs. Either way its really easy to find out, there are something like 12 plastic bolts holding the front bumper on. However at this time of year I would suggest doing this in a garage or just somewhere out of the snow.
The 04's were pre-wired IIRC, as well as the STi models that didn't come with Fogs for 04-05. If you pull the under cover, you'll probably find some connectors under there.
Your base came with fogs because it was an add on or because it wasn't a base model Yeah i think i remember reading that the 09 were pre-wired, but i want to see if anyone knows off hand
Touche mine is an 09 2.5i premium...adds fogs and sunroof and deletes 5mt to 4eat it was used cant complain lol
Our 09 forester did not come with the optional fogs but was pre-wired for them. Ordered them myself and installed without any problems.
My 09 base wagon was prewired for fogs. The only issue is there is not a switch in the cabin for them. I added aftermarkets and used a relay directly into the headlights.
