Quick question...Are the foglights bulbs or light assemblies. Had one go out and need to replace. Was thinking of same brightness or maybe a slight upgrade!? Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated! kthanks

Haha...was thinking of just duct taping a couple of "million candle watt" spotlights down there!! Need to figure out how to rewire them to a toggle switch though so i don't have to get out of the car to turn them on!! hahaha

They use the H3 bulb. I had one just go out on my 04 and i figured it would be an easy swap, I found this quick blurb about it while i was looking around.

    http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1827

Needless to say i haven't done this yet because i don't have the time or a garage. So i will have to wait until i head up to the inlaws.

But if anyone knows of an easier way that would be great.

I decided to just go with the silver stars cause its what i could find. I know i will probally get flamed for that, but oh well.

Maybe we could strap all the gauges they use on the nose of the plane, wrap it around 360 so people think it is a small propeller?

I bought some PIAA super white H3 bulbs for my '04 and just had BP throw them on while doing an oil change... They are nice and bright, actually look much whiter and brighter than the stock headlights and fogs that come with the car!

I'll give them a bump... Unfortunately now I am looking at another $60 or so for a set of 9005 headlight bulbs to match!

I am actually using silverstar h3's and I like the light output but I ahve replaced 2 in about 4 months, seems like they could last a little longer.

I'm running H3 100W bulbs in my 02. The pattern is low enough that it doesn't seem to bother other drivers at all that I'm running nearly double the stock wattage (I've never been flashed), and I run the fogs pretty much all the time, and zero problems with the wiring or housing after more than a year.

The difference isn't huge, but it's noticable.

Now, if someone can find a reliable source for headlight bulbs that have stock 55W lows but 100W for the highs, I'd like to hear about it. I ordered some from Mesa Performance a while back, but they never actually shipped them (or billed me, or acknowledged my queries in any way).

Sounds like you're either getting the bulbs dirty when you install them (using gloves, right? The oil from your skin is enough to dramatically shorten the lifespan of a halogen bulb), or you have a leak in the light assembly and water and dirt are getting onthe bulb, or the assembly is loose and vibration is killing them.

For the price of the Silverstars (and I admit, I like the looks of Silverstars a lot and run them in my headlights), the fogs make no appreciable difference in visibility, they likely make it worse in fact when there is fog/snow/rain. The prices of the H3 Silverstars is pure rape for a bulb that's just got a dichromatic coating on it.

Yeah, I had a set of those (Narva Golds) in my last car. I just ordered a set of Yellowstars to try something different.

On my '03 I didn't have to remove any of the other lights. If you look at the foglight assembly from the front you will see the 3 bolts that hold it to the bumper and 1 adjustability screw. Unscrew the 3 bolts and pull out the entire assembly. Unplug it from behind and then you can bring the whole assembly over to a work bench (I used the dining table inside my warm house;) ). Then you just need to replace the bulb from there. Pay attention to the metal bracket inside that holds the bulb in the assembly. If you don't look at how it sits in there it before you take it off, it can be very confusing when you try to reassemble it.
