Not sure I want to jinx it, but I put money down on an 06 WRX today. I have to fly out of town for it. But it will be a fun drive back!! Assuming all goes well, I have a verbal purchase agreement on the Evo. I have a downpayment on the WRX. I just need the financing to go through rapidly. Then I'm on a plane Tuesday night and hopefully home by Sunday!!!
Where is it located? Tues-Sunday seems like a really long drive, unless your going to take your time and enjoy the sights.

I'm going to visit my dad while I'm out and swing in by one of my sisters. That's why it's going to take a while. Plus I'm going to party on New Years Eve while I'm gone. Should be fun.
Congrats!! Good choice on the '06. I may be a little biased, but personally I'd say that they're the best MY WRX prior to '09 .
It's a secret. It is more than 10 hours away though. That's a long drive by myself and I'm still sore from the accident.

Health is so so yet. I'm having issues with my shoulder and neck yet. The good news is that they are paying me 11k for my 02 WRX. That goes a long ways towards the next car.
The 06 TR was crap. Long story... We get there to look at the car. The salesman was really nice. The car looked pretty good at first glance. I grabbed a flashlight and started looking over every piece of the car. The list of things wrong started growing. I didn't say anything at first. The problems I saw were this... Aftermarket exhaust (no cat), bolt missing in the turbo, oily moisture around rear diff, overfull on oil, bald (second set) tires at 37k, water stains on the door cards, hole cut in the radio pocket and one other thing that's slipping my mind right now. We took it for a drive, it was out of gas so we stopped. He looked at me as if I was going to put the gas in. I said that I don't own it, that's your job to fill it. Then we got going, it drove ok. It has an aftermarket BOV that vented to atmosphere. It hesitated a bit here and there. While we were driving I started asking about the car being 'certified', he said it all checked out. I asked if they checked the emissions. He said everything is tip top. Then I said that it doesn't have a cat and there are no emissions. I caught him in a lie. When we got back I told him that I found it had too much oil and it has bald tires. I told him that it was illegal to sell a car without a cat and they'd have to cover the cost of replacing it. They refused. I also told them it was a safety issue to sell a car with that bald of tires. They didn't care. They said they could get a good deal on both of those things, but at my expense. My dad was with and told them he'd turn them in for trying to sell a car with illegal exhaust, which he did. They refused to refund the downpayment and told use they had the right to refuse business to anyone. We told them to replace the bad items and we'd take it, they said no deal. So we left. On to the Subaru dealership. They had two 06's sitting there. Too much money. So I started looking at the 08 WRX. They had one silver and one red one left. Not big on red, so we took a drive in the silver. Very nice. It has all the options. They cut a deal and I drove it home yesterday. I'm very happy with it. I'm going to order the Rally Armor flaps for it and the HIDs. Going to schedule tint after I get plates.

The funny thing is that when I was sitting at the subaru dealership, they called me again and asked me if I still wanted the car. He told me that it was his day off and he's only there for me. F*ck that. I told him I'd call him back in an hour. Never did. The BBB, or whoever my dad called, contacted them. They called my dad about 2 hours later and told him that the downpayment would be in the mail on Monday. That's where that ended.
Uhg, I hate ****ty dealers. You'd think they'd be willing to negotiate with the economy how it is.. Anyhoot, congrats on the car! Lets see that thing with some mods .

Proof once again that car dealerships are hives of scum and villany. Trust me, I know. I tried to be the only honest car salesman in history and failed. I suppose I can't be too sad about failing because I'm honest...:roll: Probably one of the most reprehensible businesses around. Nice find Derek! Nice job giving the scummy dealership no quarter. Congrats man! Another 08! I have the same car (like Chet said) except mine is a base model with no aero kit. I like my 08 and I bet you will like yours as well. I feel that with some suspension mod, good tires and stage 2 they can be fun cars.
Thanks! Yeah, mine is loaded. I got the aero kit, navi+dvd, security, heaters and all. It's sweet. I'll throw some suspension stuff and exhaust on (well tint too). That's about it.
That's a good idea. I will also just do suspension/handling mods and DD it. No engine mod for me. I am worried about the 09 engines failing. Hopefully the 08s were checked properly before letting out in the market.
