I'm gonna be doing some work on my car this weekend- starting off with new clutch/flywheel and short shifter. if someone wants to help me out that knows what there doing i'd buy them a case...or two depending on what kind of beer your drink lol

i'll have a lift and full air tools, doing the work at my buddys house i've done allot of stuff but never a clutch and i'm sure my buddy is more interested in drinking my beer than helping me out. I think rallyposer wanted to come check it out so i'll shoot him a pm but he doesn't have any experience with clutches.

    thanks,
    David

the garage is in dayton, about 40 min north of downtown mpls. i'm also putting in p1's and agx's but i'm not worried about those they should be easy, i'll do them after the tranny. Just need a little advice on the clutch.

id help out but thats a bit of a drive for me. good luck with th install. its a lot of work getting the transmission off from the engine and getting enough room to get the clutch/flywheel in there. but youll have a lift and i would have loved to have one of those when i did my transmission swap. just take your time.

I might be able to make it depending upon how my weekend plans go and what day you're doing the work. Although i've never done any tranny work so I'd be more of a helping hand than anything. What car is the clutch going into?

I just did my AGX's a couple weekends ago, went fairly smooth aside from having to install and reinstall them

I'm located in Maple Grove so i'm just south

I'm up by there. I'll come by and lend a hand, though I don't know how. :)

I'm pretty good at figuring stuff out, though, and I'd like to see how it's done. Shoot me a PM, I don't need any beer..

Sounds like fun. I wouldn't mind getting familiar with a clutch/flywheel install.

The springs/dampers are pretty straight forward.

As far as location, take a screenshot of Dayton on Google Maps, circle where you're going to be, and attack the pic.

okay sorry guys, i heard back from my buddy and i guess his dad has taken the lift for the weekend, but I was promised the lift next weekend for as long as it takes to finish up. So that means next weekend i'll be doing both the springs/struts and clutch/flywheel. Thanks for everyone intrested in helping and if your free next weekend i'll post up a map and time next week.

I'm also doing suspension this weekend. more beer anyone?

but I'd also be interested in helping with a clutch - curious to see how one goes on these cars since I'm thinking that will be coming up for me this year

I know NOTHING! I just drive a station wagon. I don't really have weekends off work at all. Therefore if it is a on weekend, it's hard for me to make it during the day.

I can point come point fingers!!! I'm good at that!!!

Well, I changed someone's struts over the weekend. ...but it was on a Honda.

dfish, gotta give us a location and date for this. I'd really like to do a clutch swap as I've never done one yet.
