While completely unrelated to this forum I felt compelled to post up a pic of a buddy of mine's car he will be putting up for sale next week. He's a crazy mopar guy and the car he's selling is a 71' Cuda 440 6-pack. (Just one of many mopar rides he's got.) There is only about 200 or so like this one and he has matching #'s and the original buildsheet. Evidentally similar cuda's have all went for $200 large and then some within the last year. Picture shows some after market wheels and what not (old pic) All the original stuffs are going to be put back on and he is going to part out his mod stuff. Cool car.
How much is he looking to get for it? I know it wont be cheap. I have seen them forsale before around 30,000-40,000 and they sold.
Im sure if its all original it will be more then double that...maybe you should just stick with buying snow blowers...
One of his mopar buddies just sold similar car for $235,000:eek4: He's asking $199,999 for his:eek4: Super rare, low miles, original build sheet and all the numbers match. He's also selling a 70' Challenger. That one's only going for about $65,000. This one's all modded up...insane amount of nitrous among other things that he's dyno'd close to 1000hp. He used to take it to Brainerd. Crazy huh. I talk car stuff with him all day long. He can't figure out the subaru thing. That's ok though...I remember being like that years back too. He'll come around.
just to let you know. if you replace the letters w and r in your screen name with s and e it would be the name of a song by stp(stone temple pilots)
I would never in a trillion, bagillion years pay 200,000 for a that car. Its a awsome car, but imagine the super cars you could get for that.
A hemi cuda WOULD go for that much money...rare rare rare, im more a fan of the 1970 front end, but this one is a close second
people trying to recapture a childhood dream will pay it. hey if they're that rich they probably buy a whole lot more stupid crap anyways.
I think that most of the $200k 'cudas end up going to car collectors, not rich guys going through a midlife crisis.
I guess its kind of like when I was at the end of Grand Tourismo 3 and I had all this money, and nothing to do with it, so I bought tons of cars I did not need or was ever going to drive.
he doesnt have an idiot light like you do, also when turbos go, no matter how often your check your oil it wont help
It's all a #'s game. Low production equals huge $. His black Cuda has original paint and is only 1 of 2 that are black and are a hardtop. It rarely sees the road and idles in a temperature controlled garage. He bought it just to have it...always wanted one and was very conscience of how desirable they are. When cool mod he put on it was something called a rim blow. Essentially it's a steering wheel that has sensors all around the actual wheel, so anywhere you squeeze the wheel you get the horn. I'll post up the link when it goes for sale next week.
not only is it the numbers, its the 6 pack or Hemi tags that sell. no real difference than the Z28 for camaros, TA's for Firebirds... that can even stem back to things like the Chevy 210, the BelAir is just a higher trim level of the same car. Trim, packages and things like movie spots pay BIG.
Damn! Thats my dream car!! I've always been a mopar guy since I was a little chit. Why I got a subaru?? I fell in love with it when I test drove it, and so on. I would pay 200K for that thing if I had the money, knowing what they are going for and how hard it is to get a good car like that one. The house vs car thing is tempting but I do need a place to live. Tell your friend good luck, and I hope he gets what hes looking to get. Very Nice Car!!
