This is just so someone else might save a few minutes of googling. Here are the quick steps. 1. unplug the air filter hose on the pass side just above and behind the axle. 2. pull the overfill plug (14mm on bottom of diff) 3. pull the diff drain plug (t70) 4. drain and clean area 5. put new gasket on drain plug and reinstall (~50-55lbs) 6. use a combination of 5/16" fuel line and a gear oil transfer pump inside the air filter line from step 1 7. pump about 1.5 qts or until the diff overflow plug starts draining. 8. check the rubber gasket on the air filter line before reinstalling 9. put the overflow plug back in (~39 lbs) 10. clean up everything, test drive, check for leaks I only took a couple photos, but they show enough. Back story on why I did it within 8k miles of getting the car. When I got the car, I asked for a tranny flush and diff fluid change. While under there, I asked them to check over suspension stuff. That's how I knew the control arm bushings were going out and planned for it. However, since I got it, there was a bit of fluid on the diff drain plug. Just a little. Nothing on the floor. But enough the be wet around the area. Granted, I only drove it a mile or two after the change, but it's dry.
I bought a gear fluid pump from Walmart and added the 5/16" hose. I also had to replace the gasket on the air filter hose since it was torn when I pulled it out.
