They were on the old cars that didn't fit the inlet under the intake manifold. Those are great for the old SS Legacy. That thing would go fast over on bbs.legacycentral.org.
Its a 90 degree inlet which makes it a sort of sought after replacement turbo for the earlier WRXs and legacies as a lot of the 90 degree housings have been hacked into straight inlets or lost to the sands of time. Deadbolt used to sell them because deadbolt made their super 16g out of making straight inlets out of the compressor housings from these TD05 16gs that they got for cheap.
I had one of these for a while. Had it rebuilt at deadbolt before he closed shop. I had no problems selling it on legacycentral not too long ago. Great upgrade for anyone still using the 90* inlet.
