I do not have the time to work on this project anymore. As much fun as this is (truly a good time) I would like to sell it. I am prioritizing and right now some extra $$$ to throw towards my other Subaru would be nice. I still think that it would be an awesome project car and would be amazing for tackling mud pits. Details: 1984 (2nd Gen) Brat 23X,XXX Miles on the Odometer 1.8L EA81 motor Runs good No power steering (didnt come with it from factory) No A/C (didnt come with it from factory) Newer engine installed (unknown miles, but does not have all 23X,XXX miles on it) Black w/ Turbo decals (not turbo, never was) 4 Speed Manual, with Dual Range 4WD Good: Car runs great, just did a tune up (new plugs, cleaned distributor) I have put less than 100 (fifty) miles on it since I bought it 2 years ago Brand new Rough Country struts in the rear (for a 2.5" lifted TJ Jeep) Has a complete 4" lift. (custom block all round, and FastMatt custom front strut extensions) Re-Clocked rear torsion bar Hubs have been converted to 6 lug (Some lugs are loose, from when the new ones were pressed in) Has 235/75/16 (will double check size) tires which are in good shape with decent tread left Comes with full size spare New gas tank installed (still has small leak, by filler stem) Has custom high strength rear bumper (comes with parts to make a front one) Comes with some spare oil filters, clutch, pressure plate Current clutch is in good shape, grabs very nicely and does not slip even with big tires Comes with a battery quick disconnect installed Comes with extra LOW miles (30,XXX) motor Comes with SJR Adapter plate (so you can bolt up any EJ motor in) New rear seal on transmission, doesnt leak any gear lube T-Tops in excellent shape Brakes work well (no ABS) Comes with extra rear window Has new windshield wiper blades Comes with Jumpseats and head rests!!!! (need seat belts to be road legal) Comes with a box of misc. parts Radio works well Bad: Minnesota car.... Rusty. -Bed needs patches welded in -Body panels rough around the edges -Unibody requires reinforcement for anything more than casual driving No interior carpet (old stuff was nasty so I removed it) Ignition switch is busted, will need a new one if you want to use a key to start it. (I have a special method for starting and stopping it) 2 Broken exhaust studs, means a big exhaust leak at the heads Cracked windshield Very small oil leak Oil pressure sending unit not hooked up (solder 1 wire to fix) Rear alignment is very..... special (would recommend trailering until fixed) Does not come with tailgate 1 low beam is burned out Been sitting awhile, probably needs a jump start Pretty much with a welder and some scrap steel, it would be very easy to fix up the rusty areas. Use the adpater plate to put an EJ22E in it, and it should be a fairly capable trail rig. I have taken this through the mud before and does very well. If it had the extra power from an EJ series motor and some more aggressive tires it would be unstoppable. Price: $1500 What it looks like now. An example of the rust areas in the bed that need to be patched.
Send me a PM or not..... I know, Its sad. I just dont have the time or funds to put towards it. The money I that I can recoup from it will be used to help keep my impreza in good shape. I have rust on both A-Pillars which must be taken care of ASAP. Also I only have room for 2 cars, and hopefully soon I am going to start looking for something new(er).
Bump, Brat is still for sale. I will be working on this soon. Finishing the lift, doing the 6 lug conversion with wheel and tires, fixing the rust holes in the bed, and doing the custom front bumper.
