SOLD $2,500 obo. 1997 Honda Civic DX Hatchback, 5spd, with about 169,XXX miles. I have owned it for 4-5 years, I got it with 125,XXX miles on it. I think it was one owner before me, an old lady. It has ran strong since the day I bought it. The engine is completely original and stock. The only upgrade was an axle-back exhaust. It has upgraded wheels with Bridgestone Blizzaks all around with plenty of tread. Also just put a brand new battery in it like a month ago. The catalytic converter and O2 sensor were replaced for free by a dealer recall a couple years ago. Anyone that knows about this model civic is familiar with that issue. So the common "check engine light" is NOT on. About this car, I want to be up front about it as possible so there are no surprises: Airbag light in the dash just came on like a year ago, no idea why It was stolen last year, and the ignition was broken and the stereo was stolen. I replaced the ignition with a new one, but never replaced the stereo in hopes to deter thieves. So with the new ignition, it has a different key for the ignition than for the doors. The air/heater fan sometimes has a rattle because the bearing is going out. You can only hear it when your air/heat is on a low speed. Other than that, the heat is hot, and the AC is cool. Exterior has its normal dings and scuffs, along with the interior. Carpet isn't perfect, it's got its stains over the years. Just throw some floor mats on it though and it'd be perfect. I think their is a little bit of rust on the hatch, around the rear windshield wiper. The paint is chipping there a little bit. Never been in an accident. Clean title. Hit me up with any questions! Yea I just got my WRX from there. Now trying to sell my Civic. Graduated to a real car right? But I know I know about the huge thread about the place, and how bad it is. I read the whole thread as soon as I heard about it. I didn't really get any bad vibe from the place. I took my time of course deciding on whether to buy it. Mainly weighing his reputation, because the car was solid. Test drove it literally 3 times over a couple weeks. Had two different friends come take a look at it, before I decided to go for it. So far it's been awesome! I'll keep you guys updated on that. PM me if interested in the Civ!
A friend of mine is looking for a solid car in that price range. I'll run it by him. Unfortunately, he doesn't know how to drive stick, but he's willing to learn.
