Well the time has come to part ways with my 98 OBS. I really do not want to sell this but I got a promotion at work and will be upgrading to a 07 LGT and wont have the room or extra $$ for this little guy. I love this car it is AWESOME in the snow as all here know and it looks great. I bought it from Rallyposer (on the boards here) in 2009 and have since put about 35K on the car. It sits today with just under 155,000. The pic and info below is from the original post he had. So the car has been sold and bought from here from 2 member. I has started to rust a bit around the rear wheelwells as most do. It has a crack in the paint on the front bumper from when I got it but other than that it is in great shape. It does have a CEL from the front 02 sensor be out but I would just assume not put another 80 into a car I'm selling. -I replaced the clutch and flywheel and throwout bearing at about 135K -Oil changes every 3000 obviously. -New pads and rotors at about 145k -It comes with a set of 17" UK RS wheels for summer wheels -Currently has WRX wheels with winter tires on it and they will last through the winter easily. Fogs don't come on anymore either. Just haven't looked into it to much. I think the rear passanger wheel bearing is going as it makes noise around left hand on-ramps but is just fine while going straight. I have some other odds and end parts including some to start a rear disc conversion. If you are looking for a show car.... keep looking but if you are looking for a great car that never skips a beat its definitely worth checking out. I think I remembered everything, if you have questions you can post here I check it daily or PM me. Text works too 6 one twwoo 8 o five 03 eight six. I'm going to miss the hell outta this car so I'd like to see it go to a loving home. ****** $3,600 **** is where I will start for a asking price. There is some room to move though but don't offer me anything unless you are at my house with cash in your hand. Thanks (Original post) I bought it from Se7enrex this summer. I'll basically just use his description and add anything that's changed in bold Here's the link to his sale: http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26417 It is a 1998 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport 2.2l The Good: -5spd with strong holding clutch, still very good -blizzaks mounted on 02 wrx wheels -2.5rs bumper with working fogs painted to match did mod so fogs stay on with brights -2.5RS spring/KYB GR2 strut combo almost new -white on gold/tan -WRX FRONT SEATS -new spark plugs, belts, filter, and the snorkel mod, -new HID like bright bulbs -greddy shift knob -brand new wiper blades all around -service manual still in car -seriously this car is awesome, it is my brothers and hes selling...its in great shape..best I've seen for the year -we bought it about 1 and 1/2 years ago, got a full check INCLUDING compression.........EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!!!!! -wrx floor mats too The bad: -we started pulling the pinstripe(didn't scratch anything) but too lazy to finish! Looks nice. If only I hadn't picked up the Forester in September. GLWS... Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio
Possibly interested. Does the A/C work? How bad is the rust, more pics? Would you take passengers cross-country with it?
AC is Ice cold and the heat is perfect as well. I'll get pics up tomorrow and I would have no second thoughts about taking it across country then back!!! (oil change before middle and after) hhhaha
Very interested. Looking forward to seeing the pics. The extent of the rust will be the determining factor. Where is the car located? I'd like to chat with you more after the holiday. Can you email me your contact info? I'm at rexspeed (at) charter (dot) net.
To hell with after the holiday, call or write me any time this weekend. Unless that rust is really awful or there's some other surprise disclosure, I'm interested enough to call dibs at this point and the rest is just figuring out a price and schedule.
Sorry about the desperate-sounding posts above, it's just that it's been one disappointment after another these past couple weeks shopping for Subies. That being said... Thanks Matt! The car is awesome!
Vehicle is sold! Very sad to see it go but pumped to see it go to a great home. Thanks a bunch Rex and enjoy!
