Hey guys I am trying to sell my Civic. I don't know if you know anybody who is looking for one. The car was stored for the past four winters so there is no rust whatsoever. The chasis has 75000 miles but the engine only got 19000 miles. This car was fully built for forced induction system. The bottom end is “bullet proof†and will not damage due to high turbo boost. The Edelbrock turbo kit was installed about three years ago by professional shop and a car makes 266 whp at 15psi. I invested over 10000 on engine itself not including other parts. The oil has been changed every 2000 miles and the car has been tuned every summer since 2003. The car runs and looks great and it is reasonably fast. I have back seats removed but I still have them if needed. The car has been weighted without seats at 2400lbs. Specs: Fully Built motor bottom end: Wiseco pistons eagle rods polished crank golden eagle sleeves Cometic head gasket Balanced 15,000 miles on bottom end Fuel management: Hondata S100 GM 3bar map sensor RC550's MSD 6AL ignition with rev limiter MSD coil racing seats Tinted windows 20% all around Black Widow alarm Pioneer deck 200W 5’ tech with shift light Boost gauge JDM headlight Excel 17†rims with Khumo ecsta supras 205-40-17 tires Black Widow side skirts Front and rear bumper lip carbon fiber vented hood High flow catalytic converter Tanabe Super Medallion 3" stainless cat back exhaust Test Pipe ACT stage two clutch (Needs new clutch) Tenzo-R Valve Cover Breather B&M adjustable fuel pressure regulator B&M fuel filter AEM adjustable cam gear Victor X intake manifold custom heat shield guard AGX shocks and Ground Control coilovers Gerrat T-28 ball bearing turbo Edelbrock exhaust manifold Tial blow off valve S-AFC (apexI) Elite manual boost controller Walbro 255 in tank fuel pump Koyo aluminum radiator Spearco intercooler K&N Intake Air filter (4" intake and filter) only asking 11,000 for it.
im going to honest with you, you WILL NOT get anywhere near 11k dollars, the fact that its a d-series engine(not a b)and the fact that a lot has been jimmy-rigged(license plate heat shield) and cheap riced out parts(seats, steering wheel, tenzo cover, on and on....I am not trying to be a **** and i do wish you luck, but you need to re-think the price...maybe like 5 or 6 grand
LOL I'm sorry, I have to laugh at this. 11k...are you out of your mind?!?!?! 6k max, you wont get anymore.
what's with the license plate on the front end and the upside down license plate in the engine bay? just curious.
He used it as heat sheild in his engine bay... i dont know y he didnt make a good one but whatever. it seems like he took a few shortcuts
Honestly, I wouldn't pay 11k for that, but keep in mind you're posting this on a subie site, where there are many people who probably don't care too much for FF cars (myself included). That being said, I'm not rich, so I am not so picky about having to have the super "brand name" mods that I see most people here sporting. If it works and it's cheaper, I'd go for it - ebay ftw. I don't get what all the complaints about the (admittedly a little ghetto) heat shield are about. That's the thing about mods too. You will never get anywhere near what you put into the car if you decide to sell it later, but I think you'd definitely get more appreciation for the work you put in it by posting at clubcivic.com or something. Don't let others try to talk you down if you think it really is worth your asking price, especially if you're not in a big hurry to sell. If they don't buy it, perhaps someone else will. It is a very clean car though, and the exterior doesn't look too gaudy (minus the vinyl), so I give you props for that. Good luck with the sale.
LOL.... I love it!!! Good call on that one. However, that the liscense plate heat shield shows some ingenuity.
ROFL WOW, just WOW. I use to have a Honda, I bought it for 800.00. Then I got a Subaru I totaled =/, and now I need a car, but if I'm going to pay 11,000 it's not going to be a Honda.
266 whp... I wonder how fast that is in a 1/4 mile... I like it though. I think you need nos than your project will be complete.
By the way, thanks for joining our site! Just kidding, Bee. Seriously though, it does look good from the outside (I used to have a Honda) but the underhood presentation and interior components give a corner-cut feel to the car. As a word of advice, you'd probably have better luck putting the stock interior back in, as it would match up better with all the quality you put into the engine. Sounds like a damn-sick build.
See what I mean about posting a honda on a subie site? I do know some people who wouldn't pay 11k for anything OTHER than a honda. I see stuff like this all the time on the RS25 classifieds too. Someone posts a civic or something similar for sale and everyone is on him like white on rice. I think if he thinks its worth 11k, we shouldn't be one to tell him it's not.
yea im a honda geek and i have to agree with some of what has been said. i do see u have some very nice and expensive parts, but u also got some other not so nice parts. and the problem is that u spent to much money building a d-series that for the most part isnt making much more power than a stock ex motor with a $1000 turbo set up and a decent EM. VERY few people are interested in built d-series motors, and nobody is going to want to pay even remotely close to what you did for it, so 11k is guna be hard to get unless u can find that special buyer. but anyway good luck with the sale dude!
oops, sorry. -_- I've been bitter, forgive me. It looks VERY clean, maybe if they didn't get stolen so often I think more people would put out the money to buy them, I did use to have a love for my ol' honda, had hella good gas mileage, went to Duluth and back with extra gas often too. But then again, almost killed myself one too many times in it during the winter. Like I said good luck with the sale and forgive me for being bitter. =P
I don't think 11,000 will be hard to get, there are plenty of crazy Honda lovers out there, but they won't be found anywhere in this forum.
ok so was a little harsh the first time, ok, the engine products used, i.e. edelbrock, tial, the heat wrap, EM.....all of this was done well with quality parts...so thats a (+) now the engine you chose is not going to be wanted though by the people that are going to spend 11k on a turbo honda, maybe in the 6k dollar range, but a d-series doesn't get interest even half as much so the d-series gets a (-)......the exterior looks nice but due to some tacky parts the exterior equalls itself out and becomes a neutral point. The interior could be "good condition" but I honestly say this, It is extremely obvious to any buyer that you cut too many corners here, it looks cheap, like 1998 ricer with a big body kit and carbon fiber laminate-underglow lights and huh...big tack cheap...so you would need to return that to stock....how are the tires? how are the brakes? cold start?....remember just cause its turboed doesn't mean its not still a car someone might DD, does the heat work? the ac? clutch condition?....so if i love hondas, which i do, i would walk up and this would be my impression.........((((((((ok i'm excited to see this turbo civic i've been wanting, the exterior looks plus/minus I can't tell...i think its got a cool concept but it looks kinda cheaped out, i COULD like it if I knew the interior was well done and all i needed to do was some handy work to the outside...but the interior looks not so hot, now I am actually gonna have to pay money to change those parts, that automatically makes me lose interest...and fine ok lets see the engine......i'm sorry sir but for 6k ill take your car, that way i can fix all the problems this highly modified car will or already does have....that will also cover replacing half the cheaped out parts so i can bring the quality up, also replace or put-in any parts that are needed for daily driving.))))))))) ok i'm not raggin, but i have bought and sold way too many cars for my own good(10 to date) and let me tell you, you are fighting a very very uphill battle on ice in the dead of winter against an army 1000 times your size......so as 300 illustrates...it could be done....but the buyer for that car will have to be so unique to be able to except all that cheapy and still have 11k to throw down, im sorry, just lower your price, return th einterior, fix the crappy paint on the valve cover, and then ask like 8, oh and take all the stickers off
That's all right man. I own a Subaru too. I did not join the club without being a Subie driver. I like my WRX but my Honda is funner to drive. I know I will never get $11000 for it, i thought i would start there and go down eventually. I hate to sell it but need money to build my WRX and buy an engagement ring.
bee is a woman. lol, car looks nice from the outside, minus the stickers. but sorry, your price is hella high.
The car does not have stickers anymore I just had this old picture. Everything works fine but no AC. I just used this car for autocross and summer driving. I could try E-bay and see if I could get 9k for it or so. Thanks for your advice.
Word. The other Honda geek here agrees. If the car had something like a built H22A or a K20, then we'd be talking. I didn't think it was even possible to spend $10k on a pos D-series motor. Hell, $10k into a b18b (non VTEC) would probably net you 400whp.
REALLY! Dam...I thought Bee was a cute skinny asian boy...Kinda like Tbone without the mustache and longer hair, but you're way better look'in lol...haha...jk Bee, Matt will forgive me Tbone...you'll always be my "skinny man whore"
...hmmm, 11k? as a former D-Series boost guy...I'd say you might be able to swing 7-8k for it. 11k is usually around the semi-built/built DOHC boost department. I think I met you at one of MAP's dyno days...I had the white EG hatch sohc boost. Little do you guys know a $500 semi-built SOHC block could rock the majority of you guys, all it takes is a tune and X amount of PSI...but i'm talking straight line of course...haha...good luck on the sale man!
Lol Ray, I didn't know you had a thing for asian boys, but thanks. I could try growing out a mustache but I'm sure it won't fill in all that well.
regardless of how well done the major stuff is- nobody wants to buy a car that looks like it had corners cut. hell, just the grille being spray painted black or whatever would be enough to turn me off
