This is my ex-wifes DD car. it needs to go now, and here's the deal:

The dealer did an inspection and came up with a list of stuff. I will either sell the car as it is for someone to take care of these things, or I will do the work myself and raise the price accordingly.

    2002 Impreza Outback Wagon
    Automatic transmission
    All the usual power stuff
    115,000 miles - Low miles!!!!!!!
Well cared for with oil changes every 3,000 miles
Lots of little scrapes and some dings...it is not perfect by any means, but doesn't completely suck either.
    New all season tires.

    The dealers list:
They say a head gasket is leaking - I have not confirmed this. It runs fine.
It has not had the timing belt done yet...so these kind of go hand in hand.
Torn CV boot, driver side front.
    Minor exhaust leak
Needs front brake pads - Almost nothing left. (I may do the brakes myself anyway.)
    Driver mirror housing broken.

It's always been very reliable...and I will have to take a closer look at this head gasket thing. I recall this perhaps being a common issue with these engines? Last time I drove it, it was fine but this is what they are saying. Fairly common with this engine I am understanding.

Anyway, KBB is anywhere from $4,200 to $5,200 for a good condition example. I really do not want to do this work, although I certainly could. $2,500?. Make an offer? Would rather move it now at a low price.....if I fix it, the price is going up accordingly and I will be reluctant to deal a lot on it. Step up.....anyone want to flip this thing?

Head gasket failures are extremely common on the 2.5 na's. Fair price, even though some work is required. Good luck with the sale!
