    Howdy all -

Got a pretty nice 2004 STi up for sale. I have had this up for sale on CL but haven't had time to create a posting on the forum yet; sorry!

Long story short, this came to me through a friend without a motor, he couldn't finish it, and so I installed my complete motor in it. It's a really nice car and the only STi that's ever been in my garage that my wife likes...but, I can't justify owning a fifth car!! A couple other members on the forum have driven this car and all were generally impressed.

    Flaws:
There are a couple small flaws that a little sweat equity and a few bucks can fix, but this car is 100% street-able and is a very smooth running setup:
    1) Front bumper alignment could use some redress, lines are close that it's not noticeable until you are on the ground looking t it.
    2) Rear rotors and pads are getting pretty used up. I have some lightly used pads you can have if you want...
    3) Has some curb rash on the front passengers rim...go figure with extra wide rims like this I can't imagine how this happened...

    Details:
2.5 liter DOHC turbocharged engine - 100% stock engine
Compression is very even across the board: 135-140 across the board
6 speed manual trans w/ stock clutch
107,xxx miles on chassis - 86,xxx on the motor
Fresh timing belt, oil, filter, coolant, spark plugs(NGK), intake gaskets (Grimmspeed), all exhaust gaskets (all Grimmspeed or Subaru)

Car is currently vinyl wrapped black and white, but is originally World Rally Blue under the skin – I do not know the condition of the paint under the wrap, but was told by previous owner it is in fine condition, wrapping was just cheaper than paint). RS Hood and bumper are unpainted OE replacement items but not Subaru Genuine from what I can tell…

    Modifications:
    Autometer Boost Gauge
Adjstable Coilover Suspension - Stance SS coilovers
    Mishimoto front mount intercooler
    Koyorad radiator
    Synapse Synchronic BOV
    Injen CAI
18x10 Rota SVN Rims w/ NEW Sumitomo tires (NO, I WILL NOT SELL THE RIMS BY THEMSELVES)
    Muteki lug nuts
Willwood racing brakes up front; stock Brembos in rear
    Prodrive EBCS
    Grimmspeed crosspipe
    Heat wrapped cat-less up-pipe
    Cat-less downpipe
Custom straight-pipe exhaust all the way to the bumper (this car sounds loud and proud - loud pipes saves lives!!)
    Aftermarket alpine deck
Wired for a under seat Boss sub
Cobb shift knob and long throw adapter (really really comfortable to drive)
Extra bright headlights, don’t know what bulb type is, but illuminates similar to HID, was pretty impressed personally
    Quick release front bumper
Carbon fiber rear trunk and bumper diffusers
    Rear window diffuser
    Sideskirts
    Front lip kit

I have driven lots of fast Subaru's...and honestly, this one makes me giggle like a kid. It's loud in every way possible and turns lots of heads...

Please, no Lowballing, for what all is in this car my break-even is pretty high; in other words I don’t have a lot of room on price on this one.

CASH OR CASHIERS CHECK ONLY - ALL TRANSFER OF TITLE AND FUNDS WILL BE LEGIT AT LOCATION OF MY CHOOSING.

Please call/text with questions or to schedule a showing.

    Yusef @ 612-275-7398

Will you be allowing a $150-$300 price drop, to pay for a tow truck to take it somewhere to have a non dangerous suspension setup installed?

Seriously, it has wear ON THE SIDEWALL.

    Be ashamed, be very ashamed.

Isn't it in the rules that if a car is deadly it should be noted for potential buyers?

Don't know the previous owner but ill vouche for yusef. Stand up guy and excellent seller. Having driven the car, its well put together. I would personally swap the wheels/tires as well, but the wheel/tire package does not represent the car as a whole.

AWDimprezaL's concerns have been noted. I will get a more detailed picture of the side walls - I did not note any damage up close, but I will do a closer inspection based on the comments.

For anyone who is interested in the car I will be more than happy to address any concerns a potential buyer has. I do have other rim/tire options that can be installed on the car.

Tires and suspension are not my thing, so suggestions/comments are welcome. As noted above, the wheels/tires/suspension were not installed by me, but I will work with any buyer to get them to a happy place.

Stance-tards do it. It's so when you drag your front bumper on a curb or speed bump or something, you pull stretchy rubberbands instead of busting off your bumper clips.

This car is from out of state, that creates a whole lot of different risks then buying locally, so you can't even compare something like that just because it was from out of state, consider $1000 for shipping and risks of no test drive or else plane and drive home. Try to find another local car like this people, and this is a obvious statement... This car is not for everyone, not everyone will like the set up and style, but someone will buy it.

The car is basicly a stage 2 car with vinyl wrap, unpainted panels, bargain coilovers, stretched tires that have been mounted backwards and driven that way for an unknown period of time. I'm not sure what part of that constitutes an added 5k over bluebook.

Blue book is not always accurate to market value, and tires rotated onto the wrong side take 5 mins to rotate to the right side. Try to find a local stock 04 sti for 12,500, doesn't happen. Kbb is a good start to look to see a estimated value, then use NADA, but it actually comes down to the local market, sti's don't sell for 12500. It's rare to find one under 16000, if he wanted to sell it same day he would have it posted for 15k or less, my co worker has already offered more then that because he loves it, but that's all he can afford at the time. Like I said, its not a car for most people, but there has already been a hand full of people I know that love this car.

And actually kbb.com says 16900 in "GOOD" condition... So I don't know where you get that book value of 12500.

Bump for a great guy and car!

I had to the opportunity to drive this and I thought it felt fantastic. For inexpensive coilovers they rode great, and never scraped at the current ride height. It starts right up, idles and drives like well built car should. Regardless of what wheels end up on it, I know someone will be happy with this car.

I was offline for a hot minute; sorry I missed the dialogue!

It does say OBO in the thread heading; so sale price will be determined appropriately between buyer and seller. I believe that I do retain the right to set pricing; however I do take note that there are other deals to be had out there (I personally prefer to have a clean mechanical slate to modify from, but to each his own). This car is solid mechanically throughout the drive train; looks aside, it's a solid car

While I do appreciate the conjecture regarding this car, I will note again that this car has been in my possession for a limited time; it's only done about 50 miles since it's been here in MN. I had the tires rotated by a tire shop in my neighborhood recently and clearly they did not install the front two wheels with the proper rotation...I will have that fixed tomorrow!!

Contrary to internet observation, there IS NOT and damage to the sidewalls. An allowance on price can be made if the wheel/tire setup is a deal breaker for a buyer.

Respective to the wheel and suspension set-up; yes, these choices were made by someone who likes the "stanced" look...that person is NOT me. There are plenty of options to address suspension and wheel/tire setup. I do have other options in my garage that could be installed. Sorry, I know the stanced/hellaflush/whatever look isn't for everyone...don't worry, I get it :)

Again, I will happily work with anyone who wants a very mechanically sound STi to address any other elements of the car that they like or don't like.

And thanks to those who know me and/or the car; I appreciate your words.

    Truth!!!

If you don't like parts of the car its understandable, The OP mentioned that he is not a fan of certain things. But based off the original listing and the following replys, he has been more then upfront and honest for anyone that does not know him and is in the market for this "look" STI. I personally know the current owner and can vouch for him as a knowledgeable car guy and a straight up, no BS seller.

Good Luck Yusef! I'm sure it will find a new home. I'll spread the word down around my neck of the woods.

^^ Thanks for the love fellas. I appreciate the kind words.

Also...at risk of repeating myself... OBO! :) Have had some offers already, so please keep 'em coming.

I do have other suspension and wheel/tire options for anyone interested in changing up what's already on the car if this configuration is not optimal for your tastes and preferences or goals.

I do not want anyone to drive away with a car they aren't satisfied with; I prefer to keep my reputation up to par and I really really don't want someone to end up with something that isn't a good fit for them (as in I drive my kids around in my car, so I want someone else to feel good doing the same)...I am probably one of the pickiest sellers around and have zero intention of anyone getting a sh**ty deal...in other words, make an offer that works for you with a configuration you prefer and I will do my best to hook you up!!

I think everyone is very clear on the price "issue" at this point. No further discussion is needed (or acceptable).

Gentle reminder, a little latitude is occasionally afforded on price discussions, that said...

For everyone's edification; the front two wheels were install with the wrong rotation when I had the tires rotated - I have corrected this issue. All tires are now installed with the proper rotation. My apologies for overlooking that, I felt awfully silly about that one .

    Bump this to the top!

Not that anyone on the forum has come to look at the car for purchasing interest...but I am a highly motivated seller right now...so make an offer around $15,700.00 and this baby is yours.

To reiterate, other wheel and suspension set-ups an option.

No steady job = you offer $$ and you may just get a real steal...blah, blah, blah, my loss is your gain business.

Had lot's of forum friends drive this car, everyone who has driven it has given the car kudos. Come check it out!
