I have a 2004 Black Subaru STI for sale. It has 85000 miles on the car and 76000 on the 05 STI motor. It DOES have a rod bearing going out. It has black rims with new hancook tires and new coil over suspension. Less than 2,000 miles on them. Tinted windows, cold air intake, after market exhaust, newer clutch. Hate to see it go just don't have the funds to fix it the way I want. Like to get $10,500 obo. Willing to trade also. Located in St cloud.
Bearings should be fairly cheap but if you can't do it in your garage yourself its gonna cost a few grand..
True, but Toss a few more things in there to get it properly done Most likely the crank is done, and oil cooler. Add those 2 on top of the bearings Get the cam journals checked out If bad, there goes more $ Also oil pump Check out the oil pan. Then all the gaskets needed Getting the engine hot tank thoroughly also This is just some of the basics...but you can always go cheap and ghetto LOL
Well some people hear a noise, then read one thing on the internet and assume its a rod bearing because that's what they read. then it turns out its just a loose heat shield...get what im sayin?
