2006 WRX EJ255 Longblock - everything but turbo, intercooler, alternator, power steering, compressor, and intake manifold. Engine is on stand in my place in partial disassembly, heads still on, all parts and engine harness in labeled bags with all bolts/etc. Come with engine harness and full OEM fuel rails/ injectors. Engine was purchased from a running rollover totaling - I only know the mileage on the engine, no service history. Engine is AS IS. If you care: engine was to go in my 2006 WRX, sleeved with 100mm Mahle piston running an HTA35r. Alas, the wife is pregnant and I need a down payment on a better daily driver. Due to overwhelmingly negative remarks regarding the price, I've lowered it to $3250. Again, reasonable offers will be accepted. Help me buy a new car for my kid and get an engine as a reward. Happy to sell you the short block. Unfortunately it'll still be $4500, but it comes with a bunch of other stuff as a bonus.
Holy carp, $4,500 for a partially intact stock long block with $500 pistons? Damn, prices have gone up! Good luck with sale.
I hate responding posts critical of the price/etc., but here's the logic behind both of these: Fully OEM, running longblock. Unmolested, non-rebuilt engines in this condition do not exist at junkyards. Junkyards also offer little to no warrantee (usually the latter). This block is ready to go with a new timing belt, water pump, valve cover gaskets, and whatever intake manifold you want. If the purchaser wants it, I can get an intake manifold as well. It also comes with the harness and full fuel system. It's as close to a turn-key engine as you'll get, especially with only 60k miles on it. On top of that, it's been stored indoors (my living room) the entire time, dust free, on a stand, having been slightly disassembled by an ASE Master/Certified Lexus technician (me). It's sold AS IS because that's the way I bought it. Please keep critical comments to yourself unless you're serious about putting this engine in a car. I'm happy to entertain reasonable offers as they come in. Note: the engine doesn't have the Mahle pistons in it. That was my plan (see OP).
Are you the same guy a few months ago that was trying to sell an '02 WRB WRX with 150k miles on it for $15,000 because every nut and bolt had been replaced with new ones? I swear the logic is the same, so it must be.
No, it's a partially intact stock longblock that the seller wanted to put 500 dollar pistons into but didn't.
"If you care: engine was to go in my 2006 WRX, sleeved with 100mm Mahle piston running an HTA35r. Alas, the wife is pregnant and I need a down payment on a better daily driver." That doesn't say that they weren't ever installed in the motor. It just says the engine was going to be in his car but wasn't installed. Thanks for the tip though.
Kids are a miracle, but so is getting the asking price for this. You should assemble it and then sell it and youd have a better chance> Congratulaions on the Baby!
The engine is, for all intent and purposes, intact. The disassembly is the intake manifold, the exhaust manifold, timing belt/water pump and the driver's side valve cover. I pulled it apart to inspect the condition of the engine, nothing more. I'll get some photos up in the next day or two. Again, I am accepting reasonable offers. Offer $3500 and see what happens.
The pistons are not in the engine. I can understand the contextual confusion. Nothing has been done to the engine outside of partial disassembly for an inspection. If the engine doesn't interest you and/or you don't know someone who might want to make an offer/come check it out, please refrain from posting. I can appreciate the comments regarding the price and a happy to talk numbers if you want to. Email me please.

sorry to bring back an old thread but do you still have this? i have an 04 wrx that my valves just went out on and it would be 3k to get it pulled out and put back together. Would this bolt right up to everything in my car? sorry for me being noobish with this.. i know nothing of internals and in depth compatability.
