    Hey everyone. SOLD

Regretfully I have to sell my 8v GLI. I really have enjoyed this car since the day I bought it, but I am moving to a place that will only accept one car so the GLI has to go. If it doesn't sell it will have to go back to my barn in ND to sit most of the year, I would rather see it being driven by an enthusiast.

It is very near stock. I am the third owner. The second owned it for 14 years and used it as a commuter in the summer. He stored it winters. So that means the car is pretty clean, not rust-free, but in great shape for its age. There are also service records in the back of the Bentley manual that date back to 2/21/89!! Some of the services written in the book are; clutch, belts, o2 sensor, wheel bearings, tranny fluid, thermostat, calipers, master cylinder, coolant temp sensor…so on and on. It has been well cared for, to say the least. To my knowledge it has never been raced and only used as a commuter.

Has a crank sun-roof(very nice), MFA that oil temp, outside temp, clock work, but the other features don’t show up right. Cruise control works!

Has an older Pioneer CD player that works great(plays burned CD’s) and blaupunkt speakers. (Sounds OK, but the speakers could be replaced)

Comes with Bentley Manual, Original Owners manual, All three original keys, and maintenance stuff (plugs, wires, rotor, fuel filter, valve cover gasket…)

The only modification done to the car is a TDI 5th gear swap, which is great for freeway cruising. I also put in clear banana lights. (have the stock ones)

    I bought it last year this time and here is the work that has been done to it since then;

Oil changes as needed with OEM filters
    New ball joints and alignment
    NewAlternator (upgraded to a better one( I think 90 amp)-purchased a MWMW)
New headlight switch, hazard switch, rear defrost switch, bulbs, (SCI)
    New Autolite battery
    New Positive Cable
New Autolite Starter (upgraded to a MK3 starter)
Also just had $380 of work done at Metric Auto Works – Some new wiring, ran new e-brake cables , and new shift linkage.
Installed a used headliner in great shape. (old one was falling down.)

The car runs great now, starts right up, and I wouldn’t hesitate to take it on a road trip.

Body does have some rust, two bubbles behind the badges on the tail, and some around the windshield. It also shows the scars of being driven with rock chips on the front end, and some small door dings on the sides. Glass is also cracked.
    S
Interior is in great shape. Leather slightly cracked on the driver seat, but hard to notice and the bolsters still feel great. Sunroof leaks a bit when it rains hard.

The odometer is stuck at 112,000. When I bought it the P.O. said it had around 135,000-140,000 miles on it. I put of 5k at the most since last summer. I stored it last winter.
I have 3 sets of wheel s and tires.
14” original bottlecaps with BFG’s that have good tread left.
14” steels with two good tires and two bad tires. (I bought those to mount up for storage)
16” Borbets, with Paradas that have plenty of tread left.

    $2100 with borbet’s
$1900 with bottlecaps, (steels come with either set if you want them), Or Best Offer
