FS: '88 GL Wagon Off-Road Vehicle yes, the Chuxwagon '2'....I've got an opportunity on a great upgrade in the off road vehicle world. but since I don't have any extra money (or space), would need to unload my current ORV first....so if the right offer comes along, I'll sell it. unfortunately, no deals will be made for any local clubs, because if I offer it for less, I won't be able to afford it's replacement. sooooo......here's the deal: 1988 light blue Subaru GL Wagon ~240k on the body, 200k+ of which in oregon (means zero rust!!!) THE first Allied Armament 4" High Clearance lift kit 2" SJR rear diff shim to ease axle angles, and allow for an extra inch of lift in the rear converted 3.9:1 clutch-type rear LSD fully de-emissioned 180k mile EA82 motor from a '92 loyale, runs strong, only leaks a little oil  140k mile Dual-Range 5-speed transmission from an '85 GL whatever clutch I had lying around (from '85, squeeky throughout bearing. holds fine, but I'd recommend a new one if to be used as a daily driver) custom tube bumpers built by our very own archemetis custom stainless steel skidplate built by our very own 95lwrx aftermarket, manually switched electric radiator fan (unsure of the brand, but it's pretty nice) stock y-pipe to Thrush Glasspack rear disc brake conversion brand-new (well, rusty upull, then wirebrushed down to bare metal, then painted) shift linkage. I had a problem with this breaking on Morgan's wagon, so I went out of my way on this one. all carpet removed from interior, and drain holes drilled under the seats A/C has been removed, but power steering is still functional custom airbox mounting to keep from sucking water new NGK spark plugs new air filter some body damage (what can I say, it was my wheeler), but I will fix the surface rust before delivery ^^means 2-tone paint ORV registration decal good until the end of 2007 15" peugeot alloys wrapped with 28" GoodYear UltraGrips with decent tread left also, matching wheel with some damage and crappy tire, perfect for fullsize spare if desired. also comes with (but not installed): any spare engine parts I have around (including the motor from my '85, intake's different, but the rest of the block is the same) many spare suspension parts (one of the weak points, many get bent and twisted) a few spare axles (other weak point...) 90amp XT6 alternator (slight modification required to use, I can/will find the write-up if desired) brand-new y-pipe pieces, could be used to have a shop make a catless y-pipe!! (that's why I bought them) reinforced rear diff hangar if you pay my full asking price, I'll also include my XT6 seats, modified to bolt right in. I'm keeping the radio that was in it, but for $20 or so, I can get a stock one from Upull and install it. I'm looking to get $2000obo. but that's a bit higher than what I'm looking for, so I am serious about the 'obo' part. I had no intention of selling it until the last few days. so rest assure I didn't half-@$$ed fix it up, just to unload it. all repairs where done to my standards (not perfect, but it's not going to completely fall apart). and I will be more than happy to stay in touch, and help with any repairs that this rig may need in the future!! this rig will NOT include the roofrack, CB antannae, offroad lights, etc. ok, a few pics, unfortunately, I don't have anything terribly recent, so I'll try to get some up soon! a couple pics of the bumper/skidplate combo that will be included, as it was on the poopenvagon. both bumpers have been bent a bit since the pics where taken, but are still very functional: NO, I won't say what the replacement could be until I either have it, or know I won't get it.
bump for new pics with the bumpers and paint (no skidplate yet....that'll be tomorrow) you can see where I repaired some rust spots on the blue, and the paint I used doesn't match....but it's better than bare metal and rust....
Wish I had some extra money. Sure would love to have this for driving around in the U.P. by my mom's place.
Great car, I have to say it looks a little out of place all cleaned up.. But either way nice looking rig
it really does! but I had 2 torn CV boots (fixed now...), so I didn't dare venture into the deep stuff
BUMP it seems to have a slight overheating problem....I'm assuming it's the water pump, as it's old and probably tired. removed the t-stat, and that helped. it runs nice and cool at freeway speeds, but when idling, or putzing through town, it creeps up there. Everything origionally listed, minus rear LSD (promised it to a buddy) for $1800 obo for $2000, I'll include the XT6 seats, a radio, LSD, I'll reinstall door panels, handles, and speakers (all included anyway), AND fix the overheating problem. it is at my place in Duluth now, but my parents live in the cities, so a delivery trip could easily be arranged...
Bump....getting desperate. Girlfriend has offered to loan me some money to put towards the replacement (as much as I don't want to....). so I can go a bit lower. LSD is gone. cooling problem is fixed. front axle replaced, rear CV boot replaced, front brake caliper replaced. only needs a clutch, and it'll be ready to rock! if I don't have a really serious inquiry by the end of the week....I will probably send it to ebay.
well, it's on ebay now *crosses fingers* http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120049440493
nice, it's good to see someone came through on it. but sad to see it go. so when are you getting your new toy? ota
sssshhhhhh!!! you know nothing! maybe as soon as next weekend to be perfectly honest, I almost cried watching it leave my driveway.....and then I looked at the big wad of cash.....
