'93 Impreza Wagon AWD 5 Speed manual Asking $1,500 or best offer August 2005: New Hunter green paint job with lots of body work (The fenders and side skirts were a bit rusty when I bought the car, and the hood was white) New exhaust New brakes New clutch New windshield ________________________________________ Recent New tail pipe August 2006 New front tires in May 2007 (this was the car's last allignment) New Clutch in September 2007 New rear struts in April 2008 _____________________________________________ After slaving away for over a month on making the body look like new again (2005), my dad got me a "good deal" on a paint job. It looked awesome for the first year, but it hasn't held up nearly as well as the original paint would have. I did some more body work and painting (color match spray can from Johnson's Supply Co.) to repair some of the rust bubbles and imperfections recently. This should delay the rusting process on the body of the car for a little while anyway. I didn't repair any of the rust on the underside of the car- so it's just like any other '93 car from Minnesota. There are two cigarette burns in the seats from previous owners. I've had this car for two and a half years now. I've put about 15,000 miles on it. It has 189,000 miles as of now. I bought an '02 WRX in early November 2007, and haven't hardly driven the Impreza since then. It runs very well, and never fails to start. The heater works great, but the A/C doesn't. I think it just needs to be recharged. The rear wiper has stopped working since I bought the car. The motor needs to be replaced to fix this.
wow, very clean for a 93. I would take it "for sure" for my Winter Beater if I dont have plans planned already. Nice!!!
I love it how your blue one is peekin around the back of that picture ... like he's trying to get in on the action
and when i come over theres 2 wrb rexes, imp wagy, and i forget what her mom drives i think its an outback
Well I drove this car before the rear struts, and I'd say that mechanically this car should be pretty good. Body/rust wise....idk, maybe I'd spoiled by my california car or maybe I'm not, anyone who goes to look at it can judge for themselves.
Please, it's 1500 dollars, not like it's 6500. If you buy a car for 1500 and don't expect rust, you're expecting too much. The pictures look pretty clean.
You don't need to tell me this, I DD an 89' toyota 4x4 that flaps in the wind. That being said, I also didn't pay $1500 for it, and I never would. I've driven this car and looked over it quite a bit because I was going to fix it for her b4 I realized I didn't want to deal with it. I'm not saying the car is a pile of crap by any means, mechanically it should make someone a decent winter beater for a year (probably more) or so. I just want people to make sure they fully understand what they are getting, and they can offer whatever they deem fair. I could paint/bondo over all the rust on my truck and try to make a buck too, but I wouldn't.
Scooby, what is your real gas mileage with this car? I can look it up online, but the relative mpg is what I'm looking for. For example, if I drive my 1998 LGT the right way I can get 340 miles out of a 13 gallon tank, not bad, but always looking for better.
I originally did very detailed body work because I like doing things like that, and I wanted the car to look good. I wasn't looking at selling it to someone else when I first bought it. Like Aegis said (and so have I), everything is to be expected from a '93 in MN. So come drive it and give me your opinion if you are interested in buying it.
I stopped by and looked it over the other day... Great looking car for $1500, especially with the practicality of it, awd, and the nice new rubber! I wondered if it runs and drives as good as it looks but I didn't call you or knock on the door, because I already have one extra car that I'm trying to sell and there is no way I could buy another one at the moment... Good looking car though, I can't think of one cleaner looking non domestic car for <$1500 that I've seen. Bump for the ale!
