I like it, but I'm pretty much grounded from buying any more cars for a while.

How long have you owned and driven it?

Do you have a run down of what works and what does not work? Any mods besides the engine swap? Upgraded gearbox/axles? Any work on the engine or stock turbo motor? In terms of expected maintenance, any near future work should the new owner be planning for? If I wanted a functioning speedo, what steps are needed to get that working?

With that said, I may have some interest as an auto-x/dink around car. I was originally planning to fix up my brother's 318i or my old Forester, but I think something like this might be more interesting.

It is my brothers car, it was driven on really nice days only before he moved to California. I changed the spark plugs in the summer, oil was changed a month before it winter. Needs brakes, tires, suspension maybe, It does have an after market clutch. other wise everything is stock. The speedometer issue might be the harness needs to rechecked not to sure. My brother and I haven't had time to really look into it, other wise it is derivable. I did a coolant flush right before winter also. Heat works great, AC pump is there but not hooked up, Motor seems to be a jdm '91 turbo.

Define "need." Are the brakes, suspension, tires shot or is it a something to plan for over the next several months of ownership? I just want to know if I would need to plop down an extra grand right away to have a safe car or I could make updates as needed throughout the summer simply on relatively worn yet still functional items.

You will need tires and Brakes. Bald tires, Brakes are shaky now.

I used to own a SW20 couple years back and was pretty hooked on the forums for these cars. The speedometer probably doesn't work because of the JDM swap. They're known issues for not working when you get a JDM motor (something about mechanical and non-mechanical driven cables or whatever.) Regardless though, I would keep your price open to offers because of the condition it is in (rusty car, brakes, tires etc etc.) And whoever is interested, this is a 1993 Turbo model. They are more rare because of the OEM front lip from factory (they DO make a difference in terms of looks! lol) which the 1991 and 1992 did not come with. I forgot if these years were suppose to come with front fog lights as well, but I can see they are not there though. The 1991 JDM motor means it is a Revision 1 motor, just like how Subaru has there variants of Ver. II, Ver. III, Ver. VI and so on. The Rev. 3 (JDM 1994 3S-GTE) would be considered the more better swap in terms of bang for your buck. But any boosted car is fun. And just for the hell of it, this 2-seater car weighs nearly to 2705 lbs. Almost as much as my GC. I'd love to have another SW20 as a project, but only a non-rust eaten chassis. :) Good luck with sale OP. I don't see why people wouldn't be interested in this.

I may stop by this weekend if the snow subsides to make a look over and test drive worthwhile.

The 93 do look better but the 91's had a better suspension, (as long as you know what you’re doing) tend to have snap over steer which they corrected in 92 due to, to many people crashing.

Still would love to own it though would make attempt number 4.

I wouldn't mind but I work no one home sorry and unfortunately it is in my back yard. That sucks.. sorry for the inconvenience.. I've been waiting for the snow to melt so I can move it closer but if you want a test drive you have to wait till the snow melts.

It probably doesn't help I bought a few things for my car and then threw a bunch of money at my car loan. It'd be a few months down the road for me to get the disposable income to buy. Now if my brother sells his FXT, he might have a hankering to co-purchase this for an auto-x car if it's mechanically sound to take abuse.

If I had that as disposable income at the moment, I'd grab it. If I can convince my bro to go halvsies, I'd grab it. He wants other things though, but I think it'd be a very fun car, especially with a few upgrades to the suspension.
