This is kind of a heads up. I didn't want to post until I was almost ready to sell it. I know someone wanted to buy a Cold Air Intake (CAI) a few months ago. I was going to mention I planned on selling mine but I knew it wouldn't be until this time. I have an AEM CAI on my 2002 WRX that I'm switching back to stock intake with the Intake elbow in place of the silencer. K&N air filter of course. The CAI was put in last year and has less than 11000 miles on it. It hasn't been played with since install so it's still in Prime condition. I'll be glad to answer any questions on it. I know you are all going "WHY?" I didn't want my initial post to be too long so feel free to ask. Asking price is $100 (You can tell I just want to sell the thing) Oh yeah, and it's Silver NOT polished chrome. Ryan
Ok, here's an update. I have swapped my cold Air Intake with my new intake elbow. It's sad to say I can no longer hear the stock blow-off valve. This CAI made it very easy to hear the 'whoosh' sound of air returning to the turbo inlet pipe. Of the different intake setups I've had (ie: stock, stock -the silencer) the CAI was far the best way to hear the stock blow-off valve both inside and out of the car. Obviously not as loud as an aftermarket vent-to-air, but still very cool. So now the AEM CAI is removed, cleaned up and ready to sell. It includes everything that came with it (pipes, couplers, filter, clamps). Unfortunately I can't find the license plate frame, I know the intake won't be the same without it. I'm sure it's around here somewhere. I didn't notice the few wear marks until I removed it so I'm including a picture of the intake as well as the scuff marks from rubbing on the various parts under the hood. The marks won't deter the intake form doing it's job but may be a problem if your anal about looks. (Maybe I should paint it white?) The stock intake has clips that hold the throttle cable for the cruise control where the AEM doesn't. I padded the cable but even padding will wear on paint over time. The filter was cleaned using the AEM cleaning spray and then washing water through it from the inside->out. It was then air dried, as per AEM's recommendations. I'll just let this intake sit on the shelf until someone has interest in it. Ryan
