Hey guys, I had my ducati posted for sale just this past winter when I was new the forum, no interests. It's up for sale again 9,6xx miles No mods Minor dent on tank, will be shown in pictures once I find my camera cord. You can almost already see the dent in the picture already shown. It's next to the D in Ducati by the clutch handle bar. Serviced at Silverback Performance in Feb. Also before winter they test road it and etc and tightened some valves. Did a maintence check. Was on a battery tender/stand/sta-bil this winter. $4000.00/BO
Damn, wish I would have waited to buy a bike. Just got a Buell Blast brand-new last summer. Yes, I'm a beginner.
This would have been millions of times better, Hope you either get rid of that thing soon, or you have an obsurdly good warranty. that price is great! someone get this thing!
So i'm gonna go on a quick briefing about bikes. I hope whoever is interested in the bike doesn't think it has high miles. Usually people will crash their bike before the bike even dies. In Texas and southern states where people ride almost year round. The miles go easily into 100k++. Bikes still get sold at 50k miles. Also the price is very good, I've seen other Ducatis much more expensive http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/mcy/1092396328.html - 4200.00 It's only a 750 not fuel injected. 1999 http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/mcy/1087168565.html - 4800.00. Also 750 but and not fuel injected. 1999 http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/mcy/1086849745.html - 6800.00. liquid cooled 695, new version of 620. 2007 These are currently on craigslist and I've seen more for other prices higher than mine throughout winter/summer. Don't worry about Ducatis ever being run hard since it's a cruiser style bike. Their horsepower is low and torque is high. People don't ride ducatis to race, it's more of a luxury type style bike to cruise around. So even though some of the other monster CC's are higher such as 750, it won't make it any faster but more of a torquey ride. My full coverage insurance on this baby is only 25.00 a month full coverage where as my CBR that's a 96' is 90.00 full coverage. It's located in Roseville and it's ridden on nice days so miles are slowly going up. Just come check it out whenever you guys feel. And yes, it's posted on MNSBR, just seeing if subie people are interested. It does have the yellow tail fairing to make it look like a mono ride. I have it but I take it off so I can take passengers.
'02 is the first year of the ST based frame, so no noodle under your rump like with those carby 750's. where is the seat cover? good pruice, wish I needed a 620
I have the seat cover. I just don't put it on ever since I put a bag or passenger there usually but it's yellow. Makes it look purddy!
Damn, I wish I could buy this, but Uncle Sam wants all my money this year instead of the other way around. I'd sell my Blastard in a heart-beat.
If this dent is putting anyone off, don't let it! You will be hard pressed to ever find a Ducati Monster that is not still in the showroom, or never ridden without this dent and/or the matching on the other side. Ducati used a bar combo that puts the controls about 1/8" into the tank if you ever go to full lock on the steering. The only way to avoid this is to install some clamp ons, or a set of these; http://www.suburban-machinery.com/ducati2.html - with Rizoma adapter risers. http://www.suburban-machinery.com/ducati1.html - with stock clamps
I would assume this dent happened from crashing, or the bike tipped over. I have seen lots of monsters with dents in the tank, most of them come from the kick stand sinking into the pavement and the bike tipping over.
that is exactly what causes it, and why most ducati dealerships will sell a stand pad with the bike. I just use a crushed beer can, or make sure to park on cement. From the look of the bar-end it looks like the bike went down softly, maybe from a stand tip, or just a n00b in a parking lot.... hence the need for my new tank
